Actually, I picked up the nickname Strange in 1989 in my first year @ OU.
While all my classmates were still listening to journey and def leppard, I was getting into progressive/industrial and mixing punk/thrift.

Hmmm... 1989... The most memorable part of 1989, for me, was the Operation Just Cause... where i earned a few scars, a film canister full of shell fragments and developed a bad attitude.

1989 was ten years after I graduated from High School, and I was working for a Super-Computer manufacturer in Richardson, TX.

When Operation Desert Storm was going on in 1990-1991, some of my co-workers, who were in the Air Force and Army Reserves, got called up and went to Iraq for a number of months.

I was stuck there from August, '90 to April '91.

I got to my first duty station in '91 and sat around for a month waiting for the unit to redeploy back from Kuwait. Lots of cq and mopping floors for that month..

89 was Key West for me, for the very last time.  That was my last year as a carny, also.  It was definitely a year for moving on, and starting a new chapter in life for a lot of people.

In '89, I had closed my commercial landscape business and went back to college (EE) and was in my sophmore year.

I was married (for the first time), had a baby boy, he passed away, that caused a divorce.
