Does anyone have any experience with these boots?  http://www.ghostriderleather.com/items/boots~mens/mav8812-detail.htm

You see them in several places, but I can't tell if these will hold up well.

Any help is appreciated.

I just received a pair of these for use with pirate garb, which will be only worn once or twice a year (we are usually noble). For my purpose I think they will work fine, but for continued use, I would say no.

Hopefully someone who has actually them can chime in.

BTW, I did not get them from the site you are looking at - looks like several places sell these

Thanks much.  Good intel, I'd need them to stay good for 7-8 weekends.  Sounds like I should check other sources.

My brother has had his for four years and he prefers them to other more expensive boots. I asked if he needed insoles or anything and he said no, but when I had the Maiden boots by Pleaser I was happy to throw them away when I got my Son of Sandlars. :)

I have a pair, they are too big for me, they seem ok, I think they slouch a little too much, but I have not worn them for a full day yet.

That's been our experience, as well. Milord has had a pair (different style) for about 3 years, wears them all season long, and prefers them to his pricey handmade ones. I don't recall if he uses insoles, however.

Strange

I got my pair from SCABoots, and wore them for 5 full seasons working @ TRF, plus multiple outings to Scarby and Sherwood Forest. They finally gave out a few weeks ago.
Totally worth the money imho.
A nice plus is that since they are not laceups, water doesn't get in too easily.
The downside is that they are not adjustable, so fit around the calves can be wonky. On me, there were a bit tight, but not terrible.
