Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

11 Sept. 2011 marked the 10th Anniversary of the event that shocked a Nation and changed lives of millions for all time. The speeches, the playing of TAPS, the honoring of the lives lost will live forever in our hearts.

What was most striking and sobering were the many commerical ads that played duduring  the opening games of the 2011 NFL Season. One commerical in particular moved me so much, that I still tear up when I watch it.

The well done ad by Budweiser. Who has seen it and was not moved? Here is the ad and let me lknow your thoughts.

Thanks for sharing the link.  Simple, but still very powerful.

I didn't watch any of the coverage from yesterday.  But my thoughts were with the families of those who were lost, as well as our service men and woman who are serving all day.

I actually saw that one when they aired it during the superbowl the first time, and of course I choked up. Budweiser always does a fantastic job with their advertising. We KNOW it's advertising, that the core intention is to sell a product, but they find a way to do it in the most respectful and least commercial way possible, when they really need to. What a wonderful thing to see a company maintain such standards in this day and age.

I watched some of the memorial stuff yesterday, and recounted my memories of the day on facebook like all my friends, and it amazes me the way we have been moved as a nation, while it saddens me at the same time that it takes so much to get us moving.

I don't know about anywhere else. But the new Budweiser commercial played during our NFL game. Very similar to the original, I can only tell the difference due to winter from the original one and nice green grass from the new one.

But either way. Very touching and wonderful.

A very touching tribute indeed. It doesn't hurt that they use Clydesdales, which I think are among the most beautiful animals on the planet.

You have that right, Merlin. Which is why I love attending Draft Horse competitions. For so majestic an animal, smart, they are poetry in motion.

There was also a commerical for State Farm that Spike Lee directed with children singing that was jaw dropping as well.

My mom's family are from NYC ad I have firefighter and paramedics in my family so it still touches me deeply. When Sea World was sold I was slighly sad because I knew no more Budweiser Clydsales to look at :(
Normal? What's that?
