Interesting reactions.  The photo actually depicts nothing you can't see on a public beach or even at a local renfaire.  

Do we not have all types of inuendo existing in various threads, all in fun,  about mace and swords and tacos and such ?

A photo is just one more  method of communication if it depicts a thought or idea.  

For some, photographs of war, violence and crime that we see on the nightly news should also be in John's Inn, or some other place other than our reality but,  that is merely a choice and preference.  Each is certainly entitled to make those definitions as he/she may deem necessary to his/her learned belief patterns.

Again, it is part of the world around us.  It already has adequate negativity that we tend to co-create.  

Word: The world needs to lighten up, be less judgemental and learn to laugh more.

A conclusion or judgement?   Unfortunately, emotions do not always reflect as intended with the written word.  Misinterpretations happen often on forums, discussions, public meetings and in the evening news.  All part of it, yet we still judge it based on such things as learned belief systems or lack of understanding the communication or its intent.

We are taught from an early age to conform to the surroundings we find ourselves in.   Perhaps the early lessons should be more along the line of learn to accept others and appreciate their differences.  It is those same differences that make living a unique experience and a journey.   We get to deicde if our journey is full of fun and entertainment or, a reality that can promote discussions and even a feeding frenzy.   Is it not easier to always laugh and move on ?

Without (hopefully) starting an argument, but possibly starting a discussion (which may need to move elsewhere), there appears to be a disconnect between what is acceptable in one thread versus another, John's Inn or not. The image wouldn't have even raised an eyebrow in many of the other threads.  I didn't notice any kind of putdown of anyone...just a friendly jab...we do that all the time! If that was "overtly offensive," I should warn you that there is much, much worse out here, and not posted with a smiley face.

"...emotions do not always reflect as intended with the written word..." — the reason why posters should be sure of their audience, and readers should accept in the context in which it was intended, as in "Funny Pictures / Interesting Images."

We're here to have fun. If we're going to take ourselves too seriously, we're in the wrong place. Enjoy life. You never know when it's going to be taken from you.

It's not the picture itself, though it takes me a bit aback for it's misogynist tone. Yes, I see it can be interpreted in many ways, but having it directed toward Dona is questionable and it upset her. A gentleman would apologise, not lecture us all on where our sense of fun has got off to.
