Hullo all! Just a question to get some convo flowing: Aside from Faires and the like, what other hobbies do have to have and are passionate about?

For me, it is gaming and Washington Capitals hockey! Fall is the absolute best time of year in DC. Faire and Caps games.

Archer

This pic just about sums it up.

Merlin the Elder

Dang! That sure is purty, Archer! My current passion is going shooting with my son when he's in town. It's something I used to do with my late dad, and now my son has suddenly gotten an interest. We're both into old military weapons. Damn sure gets expensive quick!

Cool pic Archer! :)
Let's see. I am an avid reader of science fiction/fantasy. I collect antique wind up clocks (as an aside, I love to go to flea markets and auctions.) Building a koi pond (its become a lot more complicated project than I anticipated!)  Dog tracking (my dogs are trained for this, some better than others! :D ). Writing. (have two children's books done) Hiking.Camping.Gardening. Paranormal research. And lastly, maybe an odd one, but traveling to see old battlegrounds. ;D
Forgot! Herbal medicine. I have been fascinated in learning about that since I was very young.

Magpie Flynn

Argentine Tango! Been dancing for 2 years now. :) Other than that, I love reading, sewing, and making mixed-media and metal jewelry.

Butch

SethB, I used to be a Caps fan, but now I say "Let's go BLUUUES!"  Ha!  My other hobbies include shooting, karate, and cigars.

Welsh Wench

I ski.

East, West, Canada and Europe.
Once in Italy we snowmobiled to the top of the mountain for dinner and tobogganed down in the dark.

Have snow, will go.
Show me your tan lines..and I'll show you mine!

Baron Frederick

For me it was a Garden Railroad for 12years,but had to give that up because of back trouble. Now it is reading computers and shooting, especially black powder.

Acting in theatre (mostly musicals), and historical costuming are my main interests - both on a more professional level than just hobbies. And between the two of them, they don't leave too much time for much else. Except of course a complete obsession with Harry Potter. :)

I collect hobbies like kids collect Pokemon. So let's just limit to what I've done this month:

  • Baking bread - 30 lbs of flour's worth just this week ;D
  • Making leather masks
  • Gardening  - those tomatoes aren't going to can themselves
  • Reading - Although I've been slacking a bit, my "to read" pile is backed up to 15 books
  • Piano - trying to teach myself
  • Beer - I like trying all the weird seasonals available this time of year :)
