Château de Sedan is a castle situated in Sedan, France.

Around 1424, Eberhard II von der Mark built a manor with two twin towers around a church. When Evrard died in 1440, his son Jean de la Marck began reinforcing the fortress.

Moyland Castle is a moated castle in Bedburg-Hau in the district of Kleve, Germany.

1307 is the first time that a fortified farm called Moyland is documented with ditches and ramparts. In that year the priest and later Archdeacon of Liège, Jacob van den Eger accepted the investment of Count Otto von Kleve in annual lease .

Burg Hanstein is one of the early medieval castle in Bornhagen, Germany.

Mention of the Castle Hanstein in the 9th Century in the "traditions" (= gift notes) of the monastery of Corvey probably refer to the wooden castle of the time. In its Order Heinrich von Hanstein and Lippold began in 1308 with the construction of the present castle - "only made of wood, then little by little stone."

Bothwell Castle is a large medieval castle sited on a high, steep bank, above a bend in the River Clyde, in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The huge cylindrical Donjon was built in the 13th century, but before the rest of the castle was completed it was severely damaged in a series of sieges.
It was rebuilt and enlarged through the fifteenth century.

Csesznek Castle is a ruin in Veszprém county, Hungary.

The medieval castle of Csesznek was built about 1263 by the Baron Jakab Cseszneky who was the swordbearer of the King Béla IV.

Belgaum Fortress is located in the city of Belgaum, India.

It was built by Jaya Raya, also called Bichi Raja, an ally of the Ratta Dynasty, in the year 1204 AD. This massive castle still has most of its perimeter walls and moat.

Castello Ducale di Crecchio is located in Crecchio, Italy.

The only description of the ancient castle is found from the archives of 1633 of Scipio Paterno which describes a castle that was probably built in the twelfth or thirteenth century. The castle was then enlarged in the fifteenth century.

Castello di Bard is Bard, Italy.

Old records say that the castle was a portion of the Visconte di Aosta, held by the Signori di Bard whose family had built the first fortifications there.
A major reconstruction was done in 1800, though portions of the old castleremain as well as the medieval stone steps up the mountain.

Barabati Castle is situated about 8 km away from the center of the Cuttack, India.

Cuttack (or Kataka) was founded by King Nrupa Keshari in 989 AD. King Anangabhima Dev III shifted his capital from 'Choudwar Kataka' to the present Cuttack, then known as 'Abhinaba Varanasi Kataka' and built the fort of Barabati in 1229 AD. Most of the moat and some defensive walls remain.

Sketrick Castle is a castle situated on Sketrick Island near Killinchy, County Down, Northern Ireland.

The castle is estimated to date back to the 14th or 15th century. The Annals of the Four Masters record the capture of the castle in 1470.

Hamamatsu Castle is a hirayama-style Japanese castle.

The origins of Hamamatsu castle is unclear; however, it appears that a fortification was built on this site by Imagawa Sadatsuke, the 4th head of the Ensh? Imagawa clan, around 1504.

Sizergh Castle is a castle at Helsington in the English county of Cumbria.

The Deincourt family had owned the land here since the 1170s and on the marriage of Elizabeth Deincourt to Sir William de Stirkeland in 1239, the estate passed into the hands of what became the Strickland family. The core of the medieval castle is a 14th-century solar tower surrounded by a Tudor house. The first series of photos here were taken by our own DBaldock. Thankyou again David.

Aizkraukle Castle  is the ruin of a medieval castle, located on the right bank of the river Daugava in Latvia.

The castle has been built in second half of 14th century by Livonian Order. From 1334-1480 it was the seat of a Komtur.

Useldange Castle is a medieval castle, now mainly in ruin, located in the village of Useldange in western Luxembourg.

The castle appears to date from the 12th century, about 1100 when the lordship of Useldange was created. One of the early lords was Théobald d'Useldange.
