I made a gown inspired by the Elves in The Lord of the Rings:

I also made the headpiece

and the sash is a table runner I bought on eBay for about $2.80. There are a couple more photos on my DeviantArt.

Lady Kathleen, unless you treated my new ensemble with new and improved Wench Off, I may find myself in trouble! Lord Dragon, I may require your services as a bodyguard. I'll even spring for an ale or two...

Done.  ;D

And yes that is one fine gown, Manwariel.   :)

Lady Isabella

Manwariel,  You look sooooooo beautiful! The photography is also beautiful!

Manwariel

Thanks all!

Adriana, I used Simplicity 4940 but changed the yoke and the sleeves a bit. The fabric was a great find, purchased at Wal-Mart for $1.50 a yard (a year ago. I've had the idea for a while). The texture looks just like silk dupioni, but I don't know what the content is. I used the opposite side out for the yoke. I lined the sleeves with leftover fabric from a previous project. I wasn't planning on the slits in the sleeves, but I didn't think through lining them very well and didn't do it the way I intended, but instead of re-doing it I just went with it and put a jewelry toggle clasp at the bottom of each to hold them closed.

WOW!!!  These are breathtaking!  I really like how the red tree makes the colors stand out.

I second the others, absolutely gorgeous both in outfit, in settings and it looks!

Absolutely lovely. The dress is a wonderful combination of colors and textures.
