Just checking in to see what the good St. Nick brought to all the forum members!  We haven't done gifts yet, so I'm not sure what's under our tree, but I have some cash from Milord's parents that's earmarked for some blue velvet....

Everyone else?

Santa hasn't come to our house yet.  Our son's wife has 2 sets of parents, so they attend 3 Christmas dinners, 1 on Christmas Eve & 2 on Christmas, and we are the later time on Christmas.   Since our both sons are grown up, there isn't the early hours of the morning wake up to open presents.  So we will be opening presents around 6 p.m. tonight.

Don't know what Santa will bring me, but I bet he is bringing Steve a new sporran, black and brown with a gold celtic cross engraved into the leather.  Also a copy of the 1559 Book of Common Prayer, so when we attend the Sunday morning church service at Bristol, he will have his own copy, and we won't be at the mercy of them running out of the limited number of paper copies they hand out.

Younger son Matthew (Pistol'n M'Crack, for those of you who know him) will have a commission from Lady Kathleen of Olmsted to make some sort of a tabard/jerkin/vest, whatever he wants.  They already discussed what he is looking for, but I'm not sure what they decided upon.

And Santa hasn't brought this, but I received a great present already!  We were at a Christmas party, and I was extoling the virtues of Goodwill for finding stuff to turn into garb, and one of the ladies said she received a table runner that didn't fit with her decor, and she offered it to me.  She brought it to our church's Christmas Eve service last night, and it will make a beautiful forepart some day.

Merry Christmas to all!

St Nicholas has not visited me either yet, but my most honorable sister and I each exchanged a box filled with all the extra "stuff" from our sewing closets that might be fun to have for garbing.  I got yards of amazing lace, trim, piping, oils, buttons, pearls, yards of fabrics including gorgeous wools, zippers, fasteners, clasps, snaps, tassels, bracelets and quite honestly the whole shootin' match!  I was thrilled to pieces.   Now a whole new line of ideas can get made this year!   OH and several amazing black feathers!   I was in heaven!!!

Santa is a sweet, sweet man, who knows how to listen. He left The King's Servants and The Queen's Servants in my section of the gift pile!

He also left a Sephora make-up kit and a load of items from ThinkGeek, but the books feed my faire habit, so they win.

Here, too! *And* he left a copy of Period Costume for Stage & Screen!

(*So* excited about the kirtles &c in Queen's Servants! Can't wait to see what they say about those really high necklines!)

Not exactly garb, but SIL got me a darling black wool cloche that sort of looks like a British police hat. LOL I'm wearing it right now. Hee!

Lady Gryphon

Santa brought me a boarding cutlass, two books about Renaissance times, and my dress makers Mdummy.  I'm set this year.  He also brought me a Kndlefire, but that's not garb.
Why do I feel like I've worn something like this before?

Captain Teague

Plus he brought her a Ladies Flintlock (replica ) to wear with her Pirate garb as well.  ;)

Nothing Sewing Related.

But Santa brought me a new YAMAHA Home Theater Reciever with all the Bells and Whistles. The SONY died earler this year and there is nothng more boring than sound from the TV, when Surround is so much better.

Now we can play our CDs, watch movies, TV, listen to the AM/FM stations in clear surround sound.

The Buttons arrived from Lord Dragon on Christmas Eve. They will work nicely for the Captain Teague coats.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas Eve and Day. I have tons of photos to download of the Granddaughters.

Santa in the form of Steve bought me a pearl ring with tiny diamond chips around it (the pearl looks like the middle of the flower, with the chips around forming the petals).  When I opened it, the first words out of his mouth were, "I chose this one because I thought it would look nice with your noble garb."

Santa in the form of our younger son Matthew bought me a cast concrete wall plaque of a knight in full regalia on horseback in front of the arched gate of the castle, with the word "Welcome" across the top.  It can be used outside, because it's made of concrete, so it will be hung to the right of the front door.  I had been looking at it all last summer at Bristol, but I almost never buy anything for myself (except garb!), because most of the time, I'm buying presents for others at faire and holding them until their birthdays or Christmas.

I guess the replica of Bella's comb from Twilight would be considered garb relatd, right?

I didn't getting anything specific for garb or sewing, really.  What I did get was a new external hard drive (1.5T!) and everything except airfare paid for two week trip to Ireland in September!  So I'm kinda cool with the whole no garb/sewing stuff.  ;-)

PollyPoPo

Nothing specific for garb, but I did receive a treasure chest of gold coins and green paper stuff for spending and tipping money at Sherwood in a few weeks.

Wheee!
