Burg Mannsberg is a castle in Carinthia, Austria.

The oldest written mention of the castle as a 'loco Magnesperc' comes from the period 1065-1075, as the noble Adalbero to the bishopric of Brixen under Bishop Altwin presented.

Burg Perchtoldsdorf is a castle in Lower Austria.

The castle itself was probably built before the year 1000 and consisted mostly of wood. The first mention in records in 1138 refers to the lord of the castle as de Pertoldesdorf Heinricus. By that time the castle had been rebuilt and enlarged mostly in brick and stone.

Shamil Gala, or Galacha, is a fortified watch tower in ?lisu, a village and municipality in the Qakh Rayon of Azerbaijan.

Constructed sometime in the middle ages as part of a series of watchtowers, it was never inhabited by more than a tiny garrison.

Zaslawye or Zaslaul was a castle in the historic town of Zaslawye in Minsk Province of Belarus.

According to chronicles, Zaslawye was founded in 985 by Vladimir the Great who sent his wife Rogneda to live here with their son Izyaslav of Polotsk. Today all that remain are the ramparts and foundations with a church sitting in the middle.

Kasteel van Turnhout is located in the Flemish region of Belgium.

The castle and moat were originally built in the early twelfth century as the seat of the Dukes of Brabant. It remained in their possession for over eight hundred years, being rebuilt many times.

Hreljin Castle is a castle in Hreljin, Croatia.

Hreljin was one of the seven forts Liburna of Roman Liburnia. In 1225the areas of Vinodol and Hreljin came under the power of the dukes of Krk Frankopan. The main keep was probably rebuilt as it is at that time.

Lapikus is a ruined castle in South Moravia, Czech Republic.

Probably built in the mid fourteenth century, the castle first appears in records as Lapikus in 1411. It was mostly destroyed during the Czech Hungarian wars.

Pieskowa Skala is the name of a castle and limestone cliff in the valley of river Pradnik, Poland.

Pieskowa Ska?a castle, rebuilt by King Kazimierz Wielki, is one of the best-known examples of a defensive Polish Renaissance architecture. The castle was first mentioned in Latin documents of Polish king Wladyslaw I, before 1315, as "castrum Peskenstein".

Asserbo castle is located in the woods near Liseleje, Denmark.

The castle was built by Bishop Absolon in the mid twelfth century. It was a monastery until being taken over by the king in the fifteenth century.

Auckland Castle is a castle in the town of Bishop Auckland in County Durham, England.

In around 1183 Bishop Pudsey established a manor house on the site. Around 1293, Bishop Bek, who preferred the town as his main residence over Durham Castle due to its proximity to hunting grounds, later converted the manor house into a castle.

Poide Castle is in Poide Parish, Saare County, on the eastern part of Saaremaa Island, Estonia.

Poide Castle was built by the Livonian Order late in the thirteenth century, estimated about 1255. Today all that remains is the order's chapel and remnants of walls and cellars on a high mound.

Château de Montgilbert is a ruined medieval fortress located in the commune of Ferrières-sur-Sichon, France.

At a key point between the Auvergne, Forez, and Bourbonnais, Montgilbert was probably built by the family of Saint-Gérand around 1250, during the reign of Saint Louis. The site was a Roman Fortification and may have been a Gallic stronghold before that.

Château de Pontivy, called Chateau des Rohan, is a Breton castle in the town of Pontivy, France.

Yes, you saw that; the castle was the seat of the Dukes Bretagne and the Rohan family. The castle raised in the fifteenth century by Jean II de Rohan, apparently on the site of a much older fortification. Archeology and the footprint of foundations suggests a much larger outer bastion at some previous time.

Reussenstein Castle is a ruined castle in Germany.
