Make It Count was a great video.

As for the other two videos, it makes me realize how much better off the world would be if they had been successful in removing themselves from the gene pool. It's frightening to know that there are really people in the world that are that stupid.

Today's video is not funny but you may find it interesting or even disturbing for Earth Day considerations ....

It is an interesting debate topic.   The debunk spokesman didn't disclose how many dollars fossil fuel industries spend to sponsor claims of debunking.   If he did, I missed it.

Planet cycles of extreme do seem to be supported by many of the earth sciences.  The graph didn't seem to debunk the allegation or claims that burning of fossil fuels have sped up or advanced normal earth change cycles.

When a cycle happens, it must be fairly quick when they are finding and digging up thousands of frozen mastadons with fresh daiseys in their belly undigested in Sibera and even some under ice in Antiartica way down there deep in what is claimed to be pre-flood time periods.

Ah, now the appropriate video . . .   ;D   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlom_mQmq5Y

It may not matter at all what we do to the earth but, it does seem that we should question if what we do . . .  makes sense.

The billons of tax dollars given to the global warming doomsayers far outstripe the entire income of the fussil fuel industary.  Not to say anything about the money for the pubishing industary, the lifetime job security plus getting on all the talking head shows as an expert.  Global warming doomsaying is big business equal to hollywood

Fascinating! I'd like to read more about that, Sir Richard. Can you provide me with any references to start with?

That was very interesting.   I enjoy reading both sides of the debate but so far, the debunkers have not been effectively persuasive for me.

No doubt the planet goes through normal cycles over time, and the last of the three videos makes a lot of sense. It would be folly to believe that the planet hasn't had some damage inflicted from space over time. It would also be folly to think that what we are doing—the human race, that is—is not having an impact on the planet as well.

"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." This axiom of physics can be applied to the environment just as easily. We kill off the wolves, and the deer and the antelope play, but in our streets, highways, yards. They become nuisances and dangerous to travelers. They seeded Arkansas ponds with alligators to get rid of the beavers, and created an alligator problem.

We can use the resources of the planet, but we need to take care of the planet as well. Unfortunately, too many are in it only for the money and for the "now." I would be much happier if I knew that there will be a livable planet by the time my great-grandchildren take over.  While we may not be causing all the problems, we are intensifying them with our indifference.

Reports of doomday and end of the world doomsayers have been going around since the last ice age.  Thousands of people have ruined thier lifes and the lives of their children listening to them yet there has not been a single case of the doomsayers being right.  But a whole lot of them have made a whole lot of money from people that fell for their scams.

Just follow the money and see how many people have made billions preaching the man made Globel warming myth.

Conservationism is a good think and anyone with any sense practice it.  Envirnomentalism is just a scam to make a few unprincipled people very very rich.

I haven't read much about what people were saying after the last ice age to comment on that idea but,  there is some support that the topic of Global Warming was polarized by politics a little more recently in the human time line.

Like most politically polarized topics of debate,  truth is usually somewhere in the middle of the two polarized extremes.

One large or even sizeable  "outside influence" from outside the atmosphere of the planet could potentially render the entire debate on Global Warming as a moot point.   Europe is spending some Euro to take some steps to attempt to deflect "outside influences".   Thanks Europe.

It may be doomsday thinking to study the topic or even to "be prepared".   I do like to examine and consider the conflicting information coming out of many with long strings of educated alphabets behind their names.   It seems clear the "experts" are in conflict with their graphs and information.  It seems clear they certainly do not all agree.   The question on how much of the information is politically motiviated, economically motivated and what degree of the topic includes polarizing manipulations of data remains to be seen.     Perhaps the only way to see truth is to keep the eyes and mind open.  Fear using the "extremes"  has probably always been a tool in the toolbox,  used to manipulate the masses.        Sir Richard's point on that is well taken.

Certainly true, however as a person with scientific background, I have to lean much more heavily toward scientific evidence than mythological predictions.  What changes I've seen just during my own lifetime indicate something more than the gradual changes normally attributed to nature.
