Thank you very much Amyj. Normally I avoid colors like Orange and yellows like the plague because of my skin tone. This orange is called Pumpkin Pie and was from Silk Baron. The orange has black threads in it and this makes it more of a shiny copper penny look. I was a bit concerned when I picked it out and saw a sample, but it really does shimmer nice in the sun and does fit my hair color and skin tone

As for St Louis. We MIGHT make it to KC this year, at least that is the plan for now. Depends on Santa Fe and when it runs as we want to go there and enjoy the Southwest for a few days. But thank you for the invite

Sneak Peak!

I'm wearing this gown with pantaloons and a very silly hat June 2 or 3rd.   I need to re-check when the party actually *is*.   I'll post a better picture of this gown and a half dozen others after the first weekend in June but the dress I've been posting in the progress thread is done!

Beautiful... so much beauty here!  I'm glad Anna was here to list so many of you, because it's all such an incredible swirl of color, fabric and needle artistry that I am humbled by such talent and skill...

... and that pumpkin pie is my very favorite color of all, LadyD!  It's sooo yummy... and it looks gorgeous on you!

Issbella, those sleeves look almost like woven copper... beautiful!

Silly me forget to get photos of the Blue Courtesan Bodice for Lady DeLaney. I am sure she will provide many photographs for us to drool over.

I sewed in by hand on the four straps 40 25mm by 18mm Sapphire Settings on Silver Plate that I ordered from Sapphire and Sage, between 2 rows of 8mm pearls in sets of 3.

There are over 240 8mm pearls on the 4 straps. Connecting the straps are 2 strands of 1/2" Silver trim intertwined with 4mm pearls to give a nice finish. The shorter back shoulder straps have Silver closures.

Inside  the longer outer straps, I sewed in 3 sets of snaps to attach the hanging sleeves. This way, the hanging part of the sleeves can be removed for washing by hand(because of the trim) and dried on a  line.

Thank you for your nice comments on my blue gown!   I just finished the Mirror Mirror one.

I'm not thrilled with it.  I want to redo the blouse but the bodice finally came out okay.  Now on to the next project!

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

The Jack Sparrow coat is finished and ewill go out today to Alabama.

Made of a Cotton/Linen Blend that wrinkles like hell, a grey with a  tinge of blue. 48 Brass shank buttons, machine sewn false buttonholes, fully lined. I will get it ironed once again before I get it carefully folded and packed to go out. The fabric was a find being that Grey linen is hard to find. My first choice was more of a raw Silk ina  Grey, but no where to be found. The original fabric the Film coat was made of was far beyond my price range per yard.

Sparrow fabric is insane to get at times for certain.

Coat looks wonderful, I am sure he will be far more than pleased with it. Great work as always from everyone here.  8)
