I am going to be working on either a gopi outfit or a lehenga choli.  I have the patterns for both outfits, but I have issues of finding fabrics that look *right*.  I would like to work in cotton or linen.  Cotton or linen like fabrics are good as well.

I could use a sari and cut it up.  That way I'd have a nice looking choli, but not enough material for the skirt.  Unless I can find 2 sari of the same pattern.

So - anyway...  Does any one have any sources for Indian looking fabrics and/or trims?  I have cruised Ebay already and was wondering if anyone had any other sources.

Heritage Trading Company, on eBay, is based out of India. They have GORGEOUS trims(for a price), some fabrics, as well as other items that you would be interested in. http://stores.ebay.com/Heritage-Trading?_rdc=1

I have ordered from this vendor and the quality is excellent. Give Heritage Trading Company a look over and see if what they have fits in your budget.

You might also look at ETSY. Lots there. Search sari fabrics cotton/linen.

Here's a site that caught my eye. Never ordered from them, but pretty stuff.

If you see fabric you like, but not enough, consider mixing fabrics in complementary tones.  :)

If you live near a Jo-Ann store, you could look for batik cotton. http://www.joann.com/search/_batik/

More toward the orangeish or blues & greens.

I see I missed your trip down there, so on your next trip down there, just let me know what you find.

Thanks again so very much!!
