I hear you My Lady!

I have never been "tall" tall, but I was svelte at one time. Then Menopause came and hasn't left yet.

I love that Dangerous Beauty style courtesan!

Here's what I just whipped up for fun last week! LOTR-inspired Elven Princess!

Pretty different from what I usually make but the full inspiration and journey can be found here: http://theradclyffe.blogspot.com

Wowsy!! This is stunning. I love the hip/bra details, and I love the choice of materials.

So I made a "Maria von Trapp" costume some weeks ago... Sans bike helmet!

The main dress is made of sturdy black linen, fully lined with polyester. It has snap buttons in front, hidden under large mock buttons, to enable a quick change. The apron is made of a soft, thick linen/cotton fabric. I used it on the reverse side, which was a lot closer to the original apron Julie Andrews wore in the movie.

How completely cute!  even with bike helmet!

Very well done.

The bike helmet adds an Alpine touch.

As promised here is the finished baby belly dancer outfit.  And shots of the belly dancer outfits i did for my recent show.  One of the girls wanted to have Fuzzlet be her twinkie.  Love doesn't say how happy everyone was with the outfits.  ;D

It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Those are all beautiful!  How fun!   But I'm sure Fuzzlet has the Very Best Belly!   soo cute!

LadyStitch

I made the outfit so it can be let out so she can wear it this fall at TRF.  The PP has a new outfit, funny enough IS NOT pink, and wants her to go with his outfit LOL

Well done Lady Stitch. Especially the wee one. As they say in Minnesota.."Oh for cute!"

Baron Frederick's Doublet is finished. My fingers are bit up from the hand sewing of the closures. I detest wearing a thimble, even a soft one. Now on to my next project for Lady Renee Buchannan's son.

You can tell I love sewing garb out of Medium Wale Corduroy. It hs the right amount of body and wears well.

This long Doublet from SIMPLICITY 4059, redrafted to fit a bit larger man. Again using the Black Medium Wale Corduroy, a narrow Celtic trim that I doubled, Celtic buttons. This is for Lady Renee Buchannan's son, Matthew. This will go with the garb pieces I made for him last year. What I did a little different was the back opens rather than be a closed seam. That way when Matthew sits down, he not encumbered.

Now on to my next project for a cast Member of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. An ensemble similar to that of Toki Bloodaxe's.

This week is Doublet Week, it seems!  I made the doublet, my sewing partner Su made the shirt.

This 'Heraldic Doublet' is based on a shield, and is for a LARP game.  Altogether there are 74 separate bits of fabric in this doublet!  Su did the Mock Blackwork on the cuff ruffles on her Husqvarna Lily 550, Lilith.  The cuff ruffles are made up separately and then basted on so they are secure, but easily removed if not required, abd so they can be laundered and starched separately from the shirt.  The shirt itself is mercerized cotton, and an 18th C design, with added generosity in the sleeves, and added ruffles.

Gorgeous doublet; I know that piece work is very painstaking.
