Szigetvar is a castle in Baranya County in southern Hungary.

The Castle of today was built on an artificial island - created by filling up the swampy area and driving the stream into a canal - in the 13th or 14th  century. Szigetvár gained special significance in 1566 when the fortress there was put under siege by the invading Ottoman Turks. The Hungarian defenders, led by Nicholas Zrínyi, set fire to the fort rather than surrender and then launched a suicidal attack against the much larger Ottoman army.

Greys Castle is located in the English county of Oxfordshire.

The name derives from an old connection to the Grey family, descendants of the Norman knight Anchetil de Greye; and is specifically mentioned in the Domesday Book. Today all that remains of the castle which was built in 1347 is a single tower and some wall portions. The more recent manor house is called Greys Court.

Castello di Borgo Fornari is located in the village of Borgo Fornari, Italy.

The Castle's construction is dated from 1121 to 1182 on a hill overlooking the underlying important communication route between the valley Scrivia and the fuedal genovese region of Voltaggio. According to some sources, its construction was ordered by the Fornari family, which originated in Genoa.

Burtnieki Castle is a ruined castle in the historical region of Vidzeme, in northern Latvia.

Burtnieki was a site of a Livonian Order castle, built in 1284. The house was burned down in the 16th century, during the Livonian War. A part of stone wall on the Southern side remains.

Erpeldange Castle is located in the town of the same name in north-eastern Luxembourg.

During the 12th century, there appears to have been a tower and wooden fort at the site of the present castle. In the 13th century, Frederic and Gerard d'Erpeldange, the first lords of Erpeldange, built a fortified stone castle guarding the valley at the point where the River Sûre meets the Alzette. The moat was filled in long ago.

The build date of the castle is not known but in 1180 the castle was mentioned in a Bull of Pope Alexander III. Bits of the main castle date from the twelfth through fourteenth centuries. The annex was built in the nineteenth century.

Kasteel Goudenstein is a castle ruin in Haaften , a village in the municipality Neerijnen in the Dutch province of Gelderland.
