Bristol Castle was a Norman castle built for the defence of Bristol, England.

The first castle built at Bristol was a timber motte and bailey, presumably erected on the command of William the Conqueror, who owned Bristol.By 1107, Bristol Castle was a fine example with curtain walls and a great keep. It seems that Robert of Gloucester, illegitimate son of Henry I, was the man responsible.

Vysehrad is a castle located in the city of Prague, Czech Republic.

It was apparently built in the 10th century, on a hill over the Vltava River. The zenith of Vysehrad was during the second half of the 11th century, when Vratislav transferred his seat from Prague Castle, and the original fortification was remodelled as a complex comprising a sovereign's palatial residence.

The Château de Bucheneck is a castle in the commune of Soultz-Haut-Rhin in the Haut-Rhin département of France.

The castle is first recorded in 1251. The logis, of a rectangular plan, possibly still dates from this period at the lower level; it was altered in the 14th century (there is evidence of building work) as well as in the second half of the 16th century (Staircase tower).

Château de Condat-sur-Vézère is located in the commune of Condat-sur-Vézère in the Dordogne département of France.

The Château de Condat was the commandry for the Hospitallers. The commandry was definitely founded in the 12th century, and restored around 1540.

Kransberg Castle is situated on a steep rock near Kransberg, in the German province of Hesse.

The original Kransberg castle was constructed around 1170, presumably based on a fortification that dates back to the 11th century. The first documented owner (in 1250) was Erwinus de Cranichesberc (Middle High German for Kranichsberg = Crane mountain).

Heuchlingen Castle is located in Bad Friedrichshall in Heilbronn in Germany.

Heuchlingen was probably in the 12th Century as a castle mentioned in 1222 in addition to a mill for the first time as a noble castle seat.

Conna Castle is located in County Cork, Ireland.

In 1550 or 1554 the Fitzgeralds began building Conna Castle and completed the building ten years later. The castle and its estate was seized by the English and passed into the hands of Walter Raleigh, the English settler.

Two for the price of one!
Delvin is a small town in east County Westmeath, Ireland which boasts two castles.
Delvin castle (or Nugent Castle)

The original Delvin Castle (or Nugent Castle), now a ruin, is believed to have been built in 1181 by Hugh de Lacy, Lord of Meath for his brother-in-law, Gilbert de Nugent. In 1639 Richard Nugent, 1st Earl of Westmeath built another more recent castle, called Clonyn, which is situated on the dominating ground and now overlooks Delvin urbanised area.

The Castle of Graines, pronounced Gren, is a castle in Val d'Ayas, located near the village with the same name in northern Italy.

The fief of Graines is documented since 515, when King Sigismund of Burgundy donated it to the newly formed Abbey of St. Maurice. The castle was perhaps built in the 11th century by its monks, who built the Romanesque chapel which is still visible in the interior.

The Castle of Faicchio is located in the historic center of the town of Faicchio, Italy.

Kururi Castle is a  castle located in Kimitsu, southern Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

The original Kururi Castle was a mountain-top fortification built during the Muromachi period by Takeda Nobunaga (1401–1477), and was ruled by his descendants, the Mariyatsu Takeda clan, from1540.

Owned by the Livonian Order, Schlockenbeck castle was first mentioned in documents as a fortification in 1544; but was probably built several years earlier. There is some evidence that a fortification was built in the area by a Werner von Order Fogt Butlars by 1484.

Hollenfels Castle is one of the castles located close to the River Eisch in the so-called Valley of the Seven Castles in central Luxembourg.

The first mention of Hollenfels was in 1129 when Ludolf, Lord of Hollenfels, was given the water rights of the abbey of Marienthal which lies just 400 metres away.

Castle Hackfort is a castle in Vorden , in the Netherlands.

The first record of the castle is in a loan register of 1392, in which a sale from 1324 is mentioned. It had belonged to the lords of Bronckhorst and was called "Hacforden" with forecourt and canals.
