I know! Eight?!! Let us know what you plan to do with that behemoth!

Somebody on Pattern Review posted about PureSilks.us, as a source for reasonably-priced hard-to-find specialty fabrics (not just silk).

Silk brocade--can see this as a Florentine overgown or a medieval surcoat.

Wouldn't this linen make a lovely partlet?

From what I'm seeing so far, I wouldn't say they're *bargain* fabrics (that linen is $12.50/yard), but I have spotted things that aren't so expensive they give you heart palpitations! Looks like a great resource if you're in the market for something really unusual you just can't source locally.

Right on!! What do you do with *eight* threads?! I get confused with four lol! Baby Lock's have the best threading system don't they?

I have always been a Pfaff and Viking girl, but after struggling with threading my machines for over 8 years? I am a Baby Lock convert for the serger, of course they created it and they have the only 1 push button ease of threading, plus? The changes down to 3 thread is such a breeze! I mean it just makes sense, as to the 8 threads and gazillion needles, I purchased this for my hands, the Imagine has an air  push, and I am getting older with my arm not as strong anymore, I was worried that I would have issues in threading so I purchased the Evolution because it can do the threads without my need to add any oomph.  Plus it can do the wave and I can't wait for my next class to learn some of the stuff.  I signed up for Serger Club as well because I believe you must play and work with a machine to really get the feel for it!

It has worked so far perfectly for me, I can't wait to learn the T-shirt stitch with the 5 threads ~~

Gem! Those are lovely! I am now on a hiatus from purchasing fabric for the next few months, I need to work on all of the UFO's (unfinished objects) I have in my house from the past 3 years! But when I see something like that it makes my credit card finger twitch!  I am picking up some linen/cotton printed fabric that is from www.spoonflower.com  for Eleanor's Famous Gown with her son, and because it is linen, I can make for Camping Tourney Season and I think I will do the same for the Black Elizabeth gown as well.  I do like to look spiffy while cooking over and open fire and sweating...err I mean glowing like a pig (Did you know pigs don't perspire? I wonder how that statement got started?)  I am knee deep in the Pink Mini Challenge over at http://realmofvenus.renaissanceitaly.net/challenges/IRCMC-Sep-Oct2012.htm  PPP~ Perfect Period Pink .

I know! I am absolutely with you on that one. I *seriously* need to institute a "one in/one out" policy for costuming projects: finish one before buying supplies for another (I tend to buy per project more than just stocking up on stash, but I am guilty of that, as well.), and not just because my closet is filling up, but because I have projects I WANT to make that I just need to get in gear and *do.*

That Perfectly Period Pink challenge sounds wonderful! Pink is seriously not my color, so I'm glad I wasn't tempted to stock up on stash for *that!* LOL
