CR 302/FM 2 question

Does anyone have any knowledge about FM 2/CR 302 from 6 between Hempstead and Navasota?  We typically either go all the way up to 105 at Navasota before heading east or sometimes we take 1488 from Hempstead, but this is the first year I'm pulling a camper and it looks like 2/302 is a straight shot to the campgrounds. I just don't want to get in a situation where the roads are too rough or corners too hard to navigate with the camper?

 One word: don't. 302 has recently been repaved, but that just makes people go faster on a road that's already too narrow and very curvy and hilly. Used to live back there, bridges are narrow as well. You're better off using your current route.
