We now have an "Introductions" area of the forums.  Please feel free to continue to use this thread until the dust settles...

Ummmm....does this mean we're going to be here awhile?  It's a really nice raft - really, it is - but, I'm getting a little homesick  :'(

No idea at this point. Better to be overprepared just in case...

but I stay because it's now my home and where I find my family.

I don't think any of us could have said it any better jc.  There's the family we are born into and then there is the family we choose for ourselves.  I can't think of a better place to choose family than at faire!

Annastina

Salut!
My forum moniker is Annastina, from a Swedish ancestor.  I have a Faire name, Susannah Byerly, from another branch of my family tree, but I don't know much about her yet - she's a work in progress.  My mundane name is Donna.
My first RenFaire experience was watching LeVar Burton on Reading Rainbow (wow, what a confession).  My first attendance was RPFSC at Glen Helen in the 80s.  My hubby and daughter and I went a few times.  I've been going every year since RPFSC moved to Irwindale, five miles from my parents house.  I also attend Koroneburg and Escondido (which I love).  All three daughters are renaddicts like their mum, and we are working on darling hubby.
When I'm not at Faire I enjoy chocolate, genealogy, reading and my bouvier des flandres, Tanda.  ;D

Well, ok then, but I think we're going to need more mead, and some pillows and blankets.

NoBill Lurker

Greetings...

I'm NoBill Lurker ( waves to all in this wee boat )

My home faire is BARF, and I've been going since 1993.
And have been a member on the RF since March of '07.
Lurking since '06, but Wenchie and Ladyfaire convinced me to take the plunge and join in all the fun!!!
And now I visit the forums petty much daily!  ;D
It's alway amazing what a diverse and talented group we have here on the forums.
Not to mention the friendliness and helpfulness of all the members!
It's truly a Fairemily here!

HUZZAH!!!
So what are you doing this weekend?
I'm going to BARF!!!
You're going to...wait...WHAT???

anne of oaktower

Well, since we're going to be here for a bit, I suppose I should tell you all a bit about myself...

My mundane name is Stacey.  My first faire experience was in 2001 when my darling sister took me to PARF one weekend while I was visiting her and I've been hooked ever since.  I immediately got my children hooked and they too are now renaddicts. I'm proud to say they've been converting friends every year, too.  I took my fiance to faire a few years ago when we first started dating and converted him, as well.  Our home faire is Pittsburgh RenFest, but I still go to PARF at least once each season and this year we're adding GLMF.  My goal is to add at least one new faire every year, ultimately going to at least one each month.   Of course, I'm going to need to hit the lottery in order to continue feeding this addiction in that capacity but, hey, a girl can dream!

I'm Erynn, the mostly quiet thing that hangs out in the corner with the monkeys. I went to MNRF for the first time in middle school with my parents, then a few years later with a friend and her family in garb. 2007 was the first year I went to faire multiple times a season.

In my spare time I work on one of my many hobbies and go to as many plays/musicals as possible.

I blame my love of theatre on my parents (who took me to my first musical at 11), my love of historical costuming on my friend and my adoptive parents and both groups together (plus a sprinkling of fellow R/f-ers) for my love of faire. (ha. sounds like 'love affair')

And if there is a part of that you don't agree with, they're the ones to blame.  ;D

Emerald Shaunassey

Greetings All,
My R/F moniker and faire name are one in the same; Captain Emerald Shaunassey.  I've been hooked on faires since 1998 when I first attended KCRF in Bonner Springs, Ks.  Over the years I've been a vendor's assistant, pub wench, court lady, dance & costume mistress, lane act, and a short stint as an ED.  For the last 6 years - owner/manager of my own comedic, all female stage show, The Ladies of the Salty Kiss (www.TheLadiesoftheSaltyKiss.com).  'Bout the only thing I haven't done at faire is clean pirvies and haul trash.

I travel all over the midwest of the country from my mundane home base of N.E. Oklahoma; I've been as far north as Bristol and as far south as Ingleside, Tx; as far east as Danville, Illinois though I've not gotten very far to the west ... yet!  In mundane life, I'm an RN at a rural Oklahoma hospital.  I'm a member of the IWG (#979), Bards Guild (#171), Ren Mercs Guild, & Privateers Guild.  My home faire?  I suppose one could count KCRF since that is the faire that started all this madness but, there are several faires I hold dear in my heart.

Here's to you an' here's to me ....

Hoowil

Aound these parts, I've been going as Hoowil. I've been a fringe rennie for about 15 years, mainly recreationally. Did some time in the SCA back in the 90's. After some time in Alaska, I returned down to the rest of the world, and have slowly been getting back into the swing of things. Slowly, as in adding another faire each year for the last four. My wife and I are just now really getting back into the swing of things, and are trying to raise a mini-rennie to enjoy.
As for a home faire, not too many big ones around here. Open at what used to be Calaveras Celtic Festival (now Sonora), hit the Nor-Cal Renaissance Pleasure Faire *Gods I miss the old Black Point site!*, small single weekend faires in Fair Oaks, SF, and working on getting to Valhalla in Tahoe, and hoping the late season faire in Angels Camp is still on. Guess the Pleasure Faire would be 'home'.
Been on the forums for a little bit, only a couple of months.
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with catsup.

Greetings, gentles! (hey, I get a "do over"- the first time I posted on the forums, I mistakenly wrote "gentiles" instead  ::) ). I lurked off & on for a few months until I realized I already knew a few people here, then took the plunge.

My mundane name is Donna, and I live in Bryan Tx., just a short drive up the road from my home faire, TRF. I've been attending TRF since the late 80's...I think. It's hard to remember anymore! Started garbing a few years later, and I tell people all the time that once you do, you'll never feel right in 'danes again. The last time I did, I felt so...conspicuous, exposed, oddly-dressed!  :D .

In the mundane world, I spend my off-faire time volunteering at the Houston Rodeo (it's a 501(c)3 that send kids to college- didjda know that?) and a few Scottish festivals, gardening, learning bellydance, playing "quality assurance" to milord brewmeister, and spoiling a couple of big smelly shelter mutts rotten. Despite the garb cleavage, I'm actually a little introverted at first, so shoule you see me at TRF or Scarby, please say "hi"!

"It's just water, officer, I swear. And yeast. And a little honey. How the alcohol got in, I have no idea!"

raevyncait

*hefts cases of mead and rum into raft*

RaevynCait present and accounted for! Rennaholic #somethingorother.  Like Sarita, I probably need an intervention, but it won't work, I know that already.

I've been spending a weekend a season at Scarborough for several years, bought my first full season pass (FOF) last year and made 14 of the 17 days.  Have made every day this season.  Last year I also made Middlefaire, TRF, and Carolina, as well as Scottish Festival, another highland games in NC, and Dickens on the Strand.

I'm Dame of the IWG hostelwithnohome at Scarby.  Most likely place to find me is either at the Ivanhoe stage working Rogues shows, or at the picnic tables in front of the Captain's pub, near whatever they are calling the new stage near the Horn Shoppe.

Greetings one and all :P, I am Clereon Swiftarrow, a Ranger from the North........East..  ;D or so my character sheet says...lol anyways. My first ren fest was at the age of 6 - my parents brought me back on and off since and it wasn't untill I turned 20 that I made it my all around year favorite thing to do! My home faire is the Sterling Renaissance Festival in NY. So far I've only met a few SRF patrons on here so I hope to meet more over the years or find some that have always been here lurking in the shadows. Huzzah!
Yo ho Yo ho!
