I thought this thread would be good for 2 reason to show what we do for fun outside of fair and maybe some peoples Ideas would give some Ideas for our own fun days out side of fair. In other words some things you do might help me come up with new Ideas for my family to have a good time in the sun out side of a Ren fair.

Well normally we do a TON of hiking the backtrails of Colorado, but this year we have hiked 1 good hike of 9 miles round trip and 1 very short hike of about 2 miles round trip. I usually to a bunch of photography in that time, go to Cheyenne Frontier Days do yet more photography, Go fishing (Not this year as this is done  when hiking), Camping, (will be going next weekend), four wheeling in the X-Terra named X-GAIA

I used to work at a summer camp. I'd spend all day singing crazy songs, wearing outfits that are too strange to even wear to faire (though I did wear my garb at camp once and I won a prize for it! HUZZAH) I absolutely loved it. I spent all day surrounded by kids, doing crazy art projects (tissue paper flowers anyone? What about magazine made beaded necklaces? lol) and playing the strangest games or coming up with activities. (We made icecream in plastic bags once. That was fun and then to get it to harden up like hard serve ice cream, we ran around camp, shaking the bags up and screaming ICE CREAM!!!!!!! at the top of our lungs. Good times)

This summer I'm staying home alot. I'm talking to one of my close friends alot and trying to spend as much time with him as possible before he leaves for Iraq. I've also been working alot on my piano pieces and doing some theatre. I'm also practicing all my karate forms so that when classes start back up in a month and half I'll be ready for the next two forms I need to learn.

Other than that, I roleplay. I love my thread style star wars roleplay. It is so much fun. I have made such amazing friends through it and it's funny because we'll all talk to each other over skype while trying to come up with new plot ideas or something. Good stuff. My jedi knight is only a few weeks from becoming a jedi master and her apprentice is getting ready for his trials. *giggles* It is gonna be awesome!

Not much else is going on with me. I'm just your typical lazy summer teenage bum this summer.

I meant to do a lot of hiking this year and got off to a good start, then got bitten by some insect or spider that landed me in urgent care for my first antibiotic IV, plus two weeks of pills. Fun stuff.

I do a lot of wildlife photography while hiking. Also planning to spend time soon with a local photography group, taking short expeditions around Central New York.

We go to a friends cabin, about an hour west of where I live.

We take the kids fishing, drink margaritas and have a campfire.
During the day, we also lay around outside getting some sun, drink, and bs.

It is a welcome respite to mundania and the rat race.
If I ever won the lottery, I'd buy myself a cabin so fast my head would spin.

This summer we went camping, hiking in the nighborhood mountains, flying and swimming. My family goes to Yellowstone next week and Hawaii at the end of the month and I'm doing some major gardening projects.

I love fishing!

Here in Escondido, I go up to Lake Dixon or Lake Wolhford which are very close by.

I just got a new saltwater rod for pier fishing, so I want to get my butt over to the Oceanside pier to give it a go.

The only thing I won't do is clean the fish. I just can't bring myself to do it. So I leave them in the sink for Boats to clean.

Course now all I have to do is catch some fish..............
