You two are doing just fine.  I'm drooling over the detail Isabella...That partlet looks like its trimmed with finger braid.

It probably is.   ;D  It's a close up of one of Eleanor de Toledo's partlets.

Here's a sheer  partlet shown over a gown:

And here is a close up of one I plan to do in the next year or so:

I have got to make the Eleanor of Toledo pearl partlet.
I am hereby adding it to the list of winter projects-since I'm not going to make another gown this time.   Does anyone have pics of a recent effort?
I would like to examine a photo of a beaded partlet....

More on the painting is here at the Hermitage Museum.

A similar styled partlet is shown here:

I'm stumped on this one...Is that a wavy pintuck?

Moda a Firenze describes it as silk or linen, starched and pleated down when wet, to create that specific pattern. It had to be repeated after every wear, or nearly so anyway.

I have wondered, though, if some of them are not pleated or tucked utilizing metal threads in the silk. Some closeups of a Bronzino portrait shows metal shine in the tucks. And that sme was permanently tucked down also makes sense. So I guess there were more than one way to make them.

Thought it was a good time to bump this thread! :)
