Your propane cooking apparatus are quite legal.  We take a big 2 burner stove with us plus a small coleman two burner.

Our clan will be arriving noon ish on Friday. We typically camp toward the quieter side of things.  I will recommend after you get camp up, go take a walk, even early on Friday.  That is the way we have made alot of camp friends. Also it doesn't hurt to offer help to others.  Rennies are family, for the most part.  It doesn't hurt to have more friends out there. :)

There is one group that never told us their name, has camped near us for 3 years.  They see our truck, and canopies and know we are a fun but some what quiet camp.

It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

That's a pretty good idea. We'll be getting there early-ish as we'll be leaving Chicago around 9:30-10pm on Thursday night. We'll probably scout a spot, set up, and explore the grounds a bit. With any luck we'll have some nice neighbors and make some rennie friends. With a lot of luck, they'll be travelers and we can show them our home Faire next year :D.

James, when will you be arriving onsite? If during the day, look for the old phart on a green Kawasaki Mule. I'll give you the grand tour and point out the spots that meet your requirements. That way, you don't have to drive all over the place.

If we can I would also take you up on that tour offer. It will be my wife and my first camping experience this weekend. We will be getting to the grounds around 4:30-5pm.

Thanks!

should've checked this sooner. we've arrived and are all set up. I think we're in one of the first rows after the quiet area in the trees. should really have noted our row and what not. we've seen you drive past on the Kawasaki a couple of times, if we see you again we'll flag you down. our stuff is set up by the silver Chrysler with Illinois plates

What time does the bonfire usually start?

edit: not sure if anyone else is reading the forums on their phone, but if you wanna adopt a couple of newbies for the night, pm me on here.

Normally starts around 10ish and really gets going around midnight.   The bonfire has been really hit and miss the last couple of years.

Wish I had noticed you're edit before. Your close to where Phoenix Risen camps and there is a smallish crowd of us there this weekend.

Oh well. there's always next year. We're having a great time. The camping is wonderful. the faire is amazing. We checked out both Magnolia and a local  BBQ place and thoroughly enjoyed both. We'll be returning next season for sure.

One thing that surprises me is how many people are leaving this afternoon. We're planning to head in to the faire in a bit, stay until close and then take off tomorrow morning.
