Let The Countdown Begin!

we went to sherwood last weekend march 14th - 16th. The weather was a little dicey saturday morning but it cleared up to be a nice sunny day. I would like to make a day trip out for the last weekend. Knights of anarchy will be there jousting, but work may get in the way.

We were out at Sherwood fpr the first time last weekend also, had a wonderful time.  However, it appears Sherwood does not like me.  I had an allergic reaction to something, have face and hand swelling and blisters since sunday.  Doctor confirmed it is not shingles or poison ivy, just a reaction of some sort.  Unfortunately, I have $120 worth of scrub hats to make that I can't because I can't bend the fingers on my right hand!!!  GGGRRRRR

We were hoping to get down there to Sherwood this weekend for our spring break, but we have a new studio, instead... so we hope you're all having an amazing season, and getting out there as often as possible!  Have some fun for us, please! 


THis weekend is Miss ScallyWag's 13th natal day celebration, and we're just hoping that the nice weather holds.  We've been wanting to have a bbq, and show off the backyard... but the forecast continues to drop the predicted temperature for Saturday, now down into the the low 50's... and it looks like we'll probably be having the party indoors, instead.  Stupid weather people... 

Happy birthing day to the fledgling teen!!!! Hope the weather turns around and gives her a loverly party day.

I thank you all on behalf of my ScallyWag!  She did, indeed, have a lovely birthing day celebration, even if it WAS held indoors... and we managed to shoehorn a whole lot more people into this tiny house than I ever suspected would fit!  I think we will be having many more such family-and-friends gatherings here this year, and I am greatly looking forward to them (even if they DO lay me out for a few days afterward)! 


Hope everyone is enjoying he winding down of the Sherwood season.  We miss all of you, and wish we could be there! 

Trill, I hope that horrible reaction passes quickly, and you can get back to enjoying your crafting really soon... (hug)

Rani, I am slowly getting better.  My face has mostly cleared up and the blisters on my hands are drying out.  I currently have the sides of two fingers looking like jerky...   But I was able to start on the hats yesterday!!  Yay!!!

Oh, my goodness!    That sounds seriously painful...  I'm so glad you're improving, and I hope you're able to figure out what did this to you, so you can avoid it in the future!  Feel better!!!

Due to the more common-sense approach to weapons TRF has (thankfully, since micromanaging generally leads to issues), there's a bit of a vague area I need to get some thoughts on. I added a spear to Tiff's outfit and my own (when she tires of carrying it  ), but didn't want to put an ugly leather cover on it. So, being creative I glued thick IV line surgical tubing to the edge and tip so that it still looks like a spear, but only up close is the cover noticeable (pic below). It has passed muster at every ren faire I have been to thus far, will it clear TRF?

I have to say that is a brilliant idea!  I would think it will pass but hopefully someone official can comment!

Well... the temps are starting to rise and soon we'll be in the heat of summer.  Time for those of us who can't make Scarby, to kind of think about "stuff" for TRF.. It IS only 6 months out... Lol
