Last year was terrible for our group.  I get that we went pirates weekend, but it was bad.  We are looking for a quieter spot, but with shade trees.  We don't want to be too far from a porta job either.  Previously we were  D14 on this map http://kiltedcowboy.com/public/net-pics/trf_camp.jpg

Suggestions?

There is that new area to the left of McShug... A22/23, sort of... i don't hink you can actually see it on this map but it's on the other side of the wash...

As we have a toddler we don't want to go past the fire pit.  She is at the stage where she repeats what she hears.  :o

We camped  at a22/23 wasn't very quite. Not to  mention bondage  camp setup in the area. They kept the action out of site and  under control 9th than the sound   of paddles and whips.  We would get the drunk ravers passing through the camp sites.. I love fair but you  might be better of in the family  area.

Hey Stitch, we camp in the newly cleared areas off the walkway into fair and have had no issues.  There are trees, it is close to faire, so more convenient with a child in tow, and far enough away from the established clans and fire pit to be fairly quiet.  I refuse to camp in the family camping area.  I don't want to get partially dressed, drive up to the faire and then finish dressing.  I camp so that I don't have to do that!
Got faerie dust?

I agree.   We found a spot near F23 last year...it never got really crowded, and the walk to the gates was nice.
It ain't the years, it's the mileage.

My group has given the criteia.
1) must be in a quieter area
2) must have shade trees older than 5 years.
3) PG13 area
4)  Not too far from porta John's.

With the addition of the Ball even the area in the back may not be that quiet due to traffic.

As much fun as the Masquerade sounds, I can't imagine that area being anything even closely resembling the word 'quiet'.  And if it turns out to be the big draw that it's being hyped for, it might make other areas of the camp a little quieter, too.   :D

They way things are going, we may just stick to where we traditionally have been.  Even on 'busy' weekend it is still underused.

Sounds like my group.  We'll be looking for a new spot this year as well.

Where did you camp before?

We used to camp row 0, behind Chaos and across the road from the "New" area.  Our camp is marked on the map that is found in the Who When Where thread on page 1.
