What a wonderful piece of history, that pound note. I know they had coins at the Castle in Muskogee; I don't believe Bristol has ever done anything like that. If they have, I've missed it completely over the past 27 or so years.  Not a huge surprise, as I can be oblivious to things right in front of me, but my kids might have noticed something.

That's a really nice find, Merlin, and it looks to be in excellent condition.  I've never seen a TRF One Pound Note before.  Thank you, good sir.

More than welcome.  I think I found it in an old book. The paper is completely uncreased, although there is a slight ripple at one corner that would probably flatten back out with no lasting mark. I would almost classify it as uncirculated in numismatic terms.

So far...so crappy.  I work in the oilfield services...i just lost 35+ hours of OT per check and my only employee.   Looks like my boss and i have to start getting dirty again...

Sorry to hear that, Fraser.  Low oil prices make it easier on people at the pump, but too low for too long results in layoffs.

Yeah it sucks but at least i still have a job.  This is my third trip down this road...1999 and again in 2009.  It's a cycle thing...just like climate change.

Goodness!  It's been a bit since I stopped in here, it seems!  More plague around here, and lots of coughing and fever... you know, the usual.  Bleh... but at least it seems to be going away, finally.  Twice in less than a month is TOO much! 

I hope everyone is well, and the new year is looking up for all of you.  I'm hoping it's going to start improving around here really soon...
