It is most likely because there are so many avenues for social media interaction that this venue has been rendered nearly obsolete. I get at least a dozen new FB group recommendations daily. I hope with the revamp of RF that people will return, however, we have become very fickle in our allegiances. For instance the demise of MySpace for Facebook or the decline of USPS for email.

It's very sudden, though.  I saw a bit of a drop off, last year, but it's almost like people who were die hards have vanished, this season.  If you look at the visitor counts, there still are a lot coming in and going out, just not a lot of comments.

I post here because it ISN'T Facebook.  Too much drama and too much someone looking over your shoulder with FB.  If people were smart, they'd delete their accounts and let Zuckerberg go hang.  He doesn't give a rats weed puller about the people anymore...in fact, all the spying is done with his full knowledge and don't get me started on his immigration stance.  The man is a turncoat weasel, in my book.

I've been wondering what has happened to DB...another who has vanished into the Void...

DB comes and goes sometimes, especially if something big happens.  I know he has had a lot of personal ups and downs thru the years.  Some of the old timers have disappeared or just don't post much but many of us are still around.  Particularly here in the TRF section, there is myself, Sir Martin and Lady Jess     I don't always post a lot but am on the forum daily and keep an eye on things.  Honestly, everyone behaves for the most part, I rarely have to post a warning! 

I refuse to use facebook.  My hubby is on and uses it a lot to promote our business, so I have to help check messages and posts.  I truly don't see why people feel the need to post every little thing going on in their life for the world to see.  I prefer to keep my laundry where it belongs....

My family convinced me to go on FB but I much prefer to get my TRF info here.
On FB there is too much that isn't interesting.  I don't particularly want to see pic of your charming child doing something "cute".  If I liked children that much, I'd have had my own.  But I check FB at least weekly.  Here I check at least daily and almost hourly as opening gets closer.

There's been an overall decline in online interaction in general, not just here. Even FB has seen a downturn of meaningful interaction, replaced with self-absorbed tripe. There is a reason for it, but that's not for here as it's a real-world big-picture thing and I don't want to bring people down. So, instead...

Howdy, DB!  I'm glad you're still with us.    You need to come down TRF way, at some point in time...

Life tosses us all curve balls at times...all you can do is swing and hope for the best!   If anything, you go down swinging.
