Lol, sorry the song just came in my head when I read your post. Sleep deprivation does weird things. Lol

S'all good.

Don't know about this new "permanent Clan Camp" deal but what the Hell.

They've needed to do something since the other rules weren't being enforced.

They are discounting the first 2 weekends because of the added one and they know it will be hot AF. I remember when the regular gat price was 19!

And it wasn't all that long ago, either...

Opening weekend is always exciting, but these past few seasons, I've skipped the first couple weeks in favor of the cooler weather.  Getting old sucks, but it's better than the alternative!    :D

I haven't missed an opening weekend since 1991.  I love the first weekend.  Everything is exciting and new.  Besides, when the weather is warm, the Ladies wear less...

First weekend is too hot, too many people. We usually do a day trip 2nd or 3rd weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Not that it's much better.... We won't camp before the beginning of November. Too hot for us. But if we wait too long we run the risk of it getting too cold. My hubby is very sensitive to heat and cold due to meds so it's always tricky for us deciding when to go.

I've done Opening but it's usually too damn HOT, in garb or mundanes.  Sweat your nether regions off...can't sleep...

AHE always seems to be a crap shoot.  One weekend, about six years ago, I got there Thursday morning and it wasn't too bad.  By 3:00pm, when Lady Jess got there, it was up to around 91...then a front moved through and by 7:00am, the next morning, it was 45 with some misting drizzle.  That was the last year Laird Nasty used a tent.  Froze his weedpuller off all weekend.  ;D

I'll take that kind of weather, just minus the storms that come with it.  I remember the "Year Without Fires" it had rained just before AHE but not enough to allow fire pits.  You want to talk about a chilly weekend... :(

*If anyone is curious, there's a complete account about 5-600 pages back, on this thread...* ;D

I was thinking of people I have not seen in a long time.  Does anyone remember Lady Bess and Lady Mum?  Very nice mom and daughter I used to see at TRF and Scarby.

Yrose

Yes, I remember them. They traveled in from out of town for fair. I haven't seen them in a several of years.
