I hope this is the correct place for this! My apologies if it isn't!!

I am looking for a pink 10-25yard belly dance skirt....top as well if I can swing it...but at an affordable price. (I know, I'm asking for the moon and stars ;) )  So far the only ones I've seen are in the 75-100 dollar range.

Anyone know where I can find such a thing? I'll even take suggestions for decent patterns and make it myself!!  ;D

Do you want period suggestions or American Tribal?   There is a huge difference between the two.

LadyTrinn

Probably more along the lines of American Tribal...the heavily ruffled/gathered skirt that can be tied/tucked different ways for the purpose of belly dancing...

I have looked and the ones I've found are either waaaay to expensive or they are made from synthetic materials.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure this is what you're looking for, but maybe it will give you a start:

With a little math, you should be able to make this as full as you want.  I've made these before.  They're not super hard, but they take a long time with all that gathering.

It might be worth the effort to check out EBay if you don't feel up to making your own. I've gotten a lot (and I mean a LOT) of garb staples for a whole lot less than I would have from specialty or faire stores. Hope this helps!

I've ordered a bodice from her before, the construction was actually good, she shipped it really quick, but it didn't fit me quite right (I'm too heavy for only only 2 peices of boning)

but here is a pretty panelled tribal skirt, You'll have to look at what colors she has and what colors she offers, but check it out here

WE3 Bellydance sells on eBay as well as their own website, and I've found several nice, basic skirts and tops, some in silk or cotton, at www.moondancebellydance.com . Hope that helps!

If you go with W3 please be aware that they do not have a good reputation within the bellydance community.  They are now known for taking forever to get you anything and not being the best quality.  All their stuff is also imported from India.

Really? That's too bad. I guess I've been lucky, I've only bought a couple of things from W3, but they were very nice.

They used to be good...have heard nothing but bad about them recently though.  They seem to be hit or miss.

I have nothing but good to say about  Moondance they have good servace and they ship quickly.

I have been drooling over the 25 yard skirt, but I probably would trip over it and kill my self!

nadya

I trip over the front mine when it's too long when I'm dancing. Either shorten it at the top flounce, or roll down the waistband (not a good fix). When walking, heck, sometimes I just have to pick up the front.

I have made a skirt that is about 14 yards give or take! This is an old post so at the time the stuff was sitting in a box thinking about what it did wrong lol.

I was making a cancan skirt but the damn thing was not working so I took the whole thing apart and made a tierd ruffle skirt! its not that hard just a pain in the pinning section lol. I had used the simplicity pattern for a cancan skirt, then I took the ruffles and sewed them into a tierd skirt.

Its go super kick and spin to it. I had a little girl insist on sitting on the princess skirt it was the cutest thing ever, she tried to take me with her too when they left the shop
