Whee! I can finally post here!
Garb as finished at midnight on what was therefore technically the Saturday we attended faire....yup, we brought the needles, thread, and SEWING machine across the border! :P ...I finished handsewing that damn ruffle at midnight on saturday.....and we still had to wake up at 6am to finish other little bits and pieces!

Oh, and my bf finished his as well! (Yup, he sews his own, and we negotiate with each other for sewing machine time!)

Naween, i really really like those outfits,   the patterns on that fabric are just amazing! I really like the way his are diamonds instead of just squares...

I'm glad you like - he spent ALOT of time making sure the diamonds would line up after cutting!
(And to be honest, I hadn't really noticed the diamond/square difference until you mentioned it!...Cutting out skirt pieces so seams match takes way too much effort for my liking.)

Alisoun

I still have to embellish the heck out of it, but my "intended's" ensemble was completed to wearable status last night and worn to faire today.

P.S. Now people in a crowd can identify who we came in with when we're separated.

Lol looks wonderful Alisoun, I'll be making something similar for my intended, but as i am wearing an iris color, i don't think he would approve of matching colors/fabrics...

Lovely!  Looks great as it is and will be fantastic when embellished.  You gonna make it match your gown?

Alisoun

Thank you!  Yes, I plan to have his embellishment match my gown as much as possible.  I always buy extra, so I have enough trim to cover his doublet seams.  I need to find complimentary decorative buttons, and decide how to incorporate the black velvet (and possibly the gold taffeta) that I used in my shoulder rolls.

I finally finished my Venetian dress. The bodice was made more curved over the hips, and the sleeves was slashed and attached directly to the shoulder straps. These final details really improved the look of the gown, I'm very happy with it as it is now! Sorry for the blury photo, I didn't notice until I transferred it to my computer...

Jmkhalfmoon, the trim of your dress is spectacular! I dig it.

Alisoun, the bodice of your dress looks so well fitted! Good job.

Lady Caroline - your chemise/smock looks very nice. Have you made that one too?
