No way!! haha...  I've got to see that one!!  Is the Nomb (sp?) on cast too?

Poppa Elf is indeed the gnome.  He is an actual dwarf and the idea for the group originated with him.  He has for the past several years portrayed Will Sommers, the King's Fool.

Perish the thought, Senor Ricardo! Mi esposo querido is Austrian through and through - muy elegante, muy hermoso, muy suave, and certainly no kin to those barbarous heathens who call themselves Scots. ;D

Some of those Hapsburg relatives of his, though ... shudder ... well, let's just say I'm very lucky that Papa Ferdinand and mi suegro Maximilian were able to come to an agreement.

Well, with the way the Scots travel Europe as mercenaries and our well deserved reputation for virility you might not want to be too critical of others bloodlines. You never know who could be in yours.  ;)

Ha, I knew it!!  I told my friend with me that he used to play the King's dwarf, or fool, or whatever and they insisted it was a different guy.  I thought he was awesome btw!!!  I just didn't see the rest of his group around.

The group are "floaters" meaning they are free to wander the site and not assigned to a particular area for the day.  Most of us are assigned to an area and must be there at all times unless in a show.

And you will be happy to know that Poppa Elf won our Performer of the Day Award for Saturday.  Each day one performance company member is singled out for special recognition for outstanding work on the path.  It can be a brand new performer or a years long veteran.  It matters not.  But when I see or hear of someone going gangbusters and entertaining a crowd or leaving a fantastic impression on our audience, then it needs to known.

Actually, feedback from our audience goes a long way in determining who receives the award on any particular day and if anyone reading this post feels the need to let us know about a great interaction you had with a particular character, please, let me know, or be sure to note that to one of the individuals conducting the exit surveys.

I'm so glad you enjoyed his character though.  I know how happy he is with it.

And if you ask him nicely he can get you a great trip to Tortuga....

Oh, I am muy certain about my illustrious and impeccable pedigree. Besides, my Conquistadors could pick off those woad-faced skirt-wearers from a mile away.  :P

The elves did a terrific job on opening weekend.  They were out there interacting all the time and really looked like they were having a blast.  The guests also seemed to be having fun interacting with them as well.   There was one that had a striking resemblence to a certain shepardess.... hmmm...  ;D

I so wish I would have seen the Elves this past Saturday.  I will have to look again next time I go.
May the stars always shine upon you and yours.

Red Bud and Oops saw Pappa Elf out on Saturday and went to investigate, though when he mentioned he was going to eat our wings with BBQ sauce, we ran away screaming and then everytime we saw him the rest of the weekend, we ran away screaming....  The other Elves were quite fun and silly too.  We danced around with Buttons cousin while her friend played the violin (no idea what their new cast names are....).

FYI, the elves fill in for the weekend's featured group. So this upcoming weekend, which features the Transylvanian court, the elves will be in Transylvania.

If you go lookin' for pierogies, you are certain to find the elves.

Queen Bonnie

I LOVE the Elves and the Transylvanian Court too!  great fun additions to the cast! Huzzah!
