George was by far my favorite wrestler back in the day.  An incredible performer.

He was a high school teacher, then college professor, who wrestled on the side and in the summer to make some extra money.  When wrestling took off, he went full-time, and made lots more money than a college professor.  He also was in a movie with Johnny Depp called Ed Wood.  He used to tell us hysterically funny stories about his time in Hollywood.  My now-grown kids have many good memories of swimming with him in the pool and playing on the beach with him.
