Hello, Can you hear me?
Am I gettin' through to you?
Hello, Is it late there?
There's a laughter on the line
Are you sure you're there alone?
Cause I'm tryin' to explain
Somethin's wrong, Ya just don't sound the same
Why don't you, Why don't you
Go outside, Go outside

Kiss the rain
Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain
Whenever I'm gone, too long.
If your lips
Feel lonely and thirsty
Kiss the rain
And wait for the dawn.
Keep in mind
We're under the same sky
And the nights
As empty for me, as for you
If ya feel
You can't wait till morinin'
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain

Hello, Do you miss me?
I hear you say you do
But not the way I'm missin' you
What's new? How's the weather?
Is it stormy where you are?
Cause I'm so close but it feels like you're so far
Oh would it mean anything
If you knew What I'm left imagining
In my mind, In my mind
Would you go, Would you go

Kiss the rain

And you'd fall over me
Think of me
Think of me
Think of me
Only me
Kiss the rain
Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain
Whenever I'm gone too long
If your lips
Feel lonely and tempted
Kiss the rain
and wait for the dawn
Keep in mind
We're under the same skies
And the nights
As empty for me, as for you
If you feel
You can't wait till morning
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Oooooohhhhh
Kiss the rain
Oooooohhhhh
Kiss the rain
Hello
Can ya hear me?
Can ya hear me?
Can ya hear me?

Rani, that's Billie Meyer.. Kiss The Rain.

It's a beautiful song, and it always gives me that little twist inside... then I cry a little  :'(

I've been listening to it all day on youtube, and I love it! Of course, it wouldn't have the same meaning to me if there wasn't someone far from me that I'm thinking of... but it did make me cry a little...

so I sent it to him... LOL

This is sooo stuck in my head. It's being run in an Addidas commmercial right now and has been remixed by a few groups, but nobody does it with better soul than Franki and the boys.

Begging

Put your loving hand out, baby
I`m begging

(Begging) begging
Put your loving hand out, baby
(Begging) begging you
Put your loving hand out, baby

Riding high when I was king
Played it hard and fast
Cause I had everything
You walked away, won me then
But easy come and easy go
And it would end

(Begging) I`m begging you
Won`t you give your hand out, baby
(Begging) begging
Put your loving hand out, baby

I need you to understand
That I tried so hard
To be your man
The kind of man you want in the end
Only then can I begin to live again

An empty shell
Used to be
Shadow of my life
Is hanging over me

Broken man without a throne
Wont even stand the devils dance
To win my soul

(Begging) begging you

Won`t you give your hand out, baby
(Begging) begging you
Put your loving hand out, baby

I`m fighting hard
To hold my own
No, I just cant make it
All alone

I`m holdin on
I can`t fall back
Now that big brass ring
Is a shade of black

(Begging) I`m begging you
Won`t you give your hand out, baby
(Begging) begging
Put your loving hand out, baby

(Begging) begging you

There's a moon over Bourbon Street tonight
I see faces as they pass beneath the pale lamplight
I've no choice but to follow that call
The bright lights, the people, and the moon and all
I pray everyday to be strong
For I know what I do must be wrong
Oh you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet
While there's a moon over Bourbon Street

It was many years ago that I became what I am
I was trapped in this life like an innocent lamb
Now I can only show my face at noon
And you'll only see me walking by the light of the moon
The brim of my hat hides the eye of a beast
I've the face of a sinner but the hands of a priest
Oh you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet
While there's a moon over Bourbon Street

She walks everyday through the streets of New Orleans
She's innocent and young from a family of means
I have stood many times outside her window at night
To struggle with my instinct in the pale moon light
How could I be this way when I pray to God above
I must love what I destroy and destroy the thing I love
Oh you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet
While there's a moon over Bourbon Street...

I just want to be Layla.....

Lady Nicolette

Even though I can't remember all of the lyrics, there was an artist I saw many years ago at Club Largo in LA.  I looked up the lyrics tonight and can't find them in their entirety, but this part was absolutely unforgettable (and I rediscovered her name at least):

Damn
I wish I was a man
I'd be sexy with a belly
Like Jack Nicholson

So long ago
Was it in a dream, was it just a dream?
I know, yes I know
Seemed so very real, it seemed so real to me

Took a walk down the street
Thru the heat whispered trees
I thought I could hear (hear, hear, hear)
Somebody call out my name as it started to rain

Two spirits dancing so strange

Ah! b'wakawa pousse?, pousse?
Ah! b'wakawa pousse?, pousse?
Ah! b'wakawa pousse?, pousse?

Dream, dream away
Magic in the air, was magic in the air?
I believe, yes I believe
More I cannot say, what more can I say?

On a river of sound
Thru the mirror go round, round
I thought I could feel (feel, feel, feel)
Music touching my soul, something warm, sudden cold
The spirit dance was unfolding

Ah! b'wakawa pousse?, pousse?
Ah! b'wakawa pousse?, pousse?
Ah! b'wakawa pousse?, pousse?

I sit alone and watch the clock
Trying to collect my thoughts
All I think about is you
And so I cry myself to sleep
And hope the devil I don't meet
In the dreams that I live trough

Believe in me
I know you've waited for so long
Believe in me
Sometimes the weak become the strong
Believe in me
This life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

All the smiles you had to fake
And all the shiner bock you had to take
Just to lead us here again
I never have the things to say
To make it all just go away
To make it all just disappear

Believe in me
I know you've waited for so long
Believe in me
Sometimes the weak become the strong
Believe in me
This life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

Its my life
Its my choice
Hear my words
Hear my voice
And just believe

I sit alone and watch the clock
Trying to collect my thoughts
And all I think about is you

If you believe in me
Life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

Believe in me
I know you've waited for so long
Believe in me
Sometimes the weak become the strong
Believe in me
This life is not always what it seems
Believe in me
Cause I was made for chasing dreams

Staind Believe

In my little town
I grew up believing
God keeps his eye on us all
he used to lean upon me
As I pledged allegiance to the wall
Lord I recall
My little town

Coming home after school
Flying my bike past the gates
Of the factories
My mom doing the laundry
Hanging our shirts
In the dirty breeze

And after it rains
There's a rainbow
And all of the colors are black
It's not that the colors aren't there
It's just imagination they lack
Everything's the same
Back in my little town
Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town
Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town

In my little town
I never meant nothin'
I was just my father's son
Saving my money
Dreaming of glory
Twitching like a finger
On the trigger of a gun
Leaving nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town

Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town

There's a war going on for your mind
Media mavens mount surgical strikes from trapper keeper collages and online magazine racks
Cover girl cutouts throw up pop-up ads
Infecting victims with silicone shrapnel
Worldwide passenger pigeons deploy paratroopers
Now it's raining pornography
Lovers take shelter
Post-production debutantes pursue you in nascar chariots
They construct ransom letters from biblical passages and bleed mascara into holy water supplies

There's a war going on for your mind
Industry insiders slang test tube babies to corporate crackheads
They flash logos and blast ghettos
Their embroidered neckties say "stop snitchin'"
Conscious rappers and whistleblowers get stitches made of acupuncture needles and marionette strings

There is a war going on for your mind
Professional wrestlers and vice presidents want you to believe them
The desert sky is their bluescreen
They superimpose explosions
They shout at you
"pay no attention to the men behind the barbed curtain
Nor the craters beneath the draped flags
Those hoods are there for your protection
And meteors these days are the size of corpses

There's a war going on for your mind
We are the insurgents

Flobots, There Is A War Going On For Your Mind
...just in case you wanted to hear it...

Thanks for the memory
Of things I can't forget
Journeys on a jet
Our wond'rous week in Martinique
And Vegas and roulette
How lucky I was

And thanks for the memory
Of summers by the sea
Dawn in Waikiki
We had a pad in London
But we didn't stop for tea
How cozy it was

Now since our breakup I wake up
Alone on a gray morning-after
I long for the sound of your laughter
And then I see the laugh's on me

But thanks for the memory
Of every touch a thrill
I've been through the mill
I've lived a lot and learned a lot
You loved me not and still
I miss you so much

Thanks for the memory
Of how we used to jog
Even in a fog
That barbecue in Malibu
Away from all the smog
How rainy it was

Thanks for the memory
Of letters I destroyed
Books that we enjoyed
Tonight the way things look
I need a book by Sigmund Freud
How brainy he was

Gone are those evenings on Broadway
Together we'd go to a great show
But now I begin with the late show
And wish that you
Were watching, too

I know it's a fallacy
That grown men never cry
Baby, that's a lie
We had our bed of roses
But forgot that roses die
And thank you so much

Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Sittin' in a native hut
All alone and blue
Sittin' in a native hut
Wonderin' what to do
Along came a native girl
Did a native dance
It was like in paradise
Put me in a trance

Going
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Joined her in her dancin' spree
Felt my spine a-tingle
Held her tight and close to me
Man I'm glad I'm single
Then she showed me what to do
First I was amazed
Soon I learned a step or two
Put me in a daze

Going
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
You can do the ko-ko-bop
Now's no time to stop
Left foot forward right one back
Bring them side by side
Uh syncopate your last two steps
Now you're going to glide
Keep along the rhythm track
Girls please show 'em how
Now you start to arch your back
Man you got it now

Going
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Ko-Ko-Bop
Shimmy Shimmy Bop

Probably one of the best examples of what happens when three outstanding musicians and one over-rated attention whore join forces.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...

...L.A. Woman by The Doors...

Stupid/Useless Fact of the Day:  The over-rated attention whore in question was played by Val Kilmer in The Doors biopic.  Apparently, Val is so difficult to work with, John Frankenheimer was quoted as saying "I wouldn't cast Val Kilmer for The Val Kilmer Story!"

And finally, I don't know if this is the place to post this, but it is music-related.  This kid is about the funniest thing to come out of YouTube I've ever seen.  Do yourself a favor and look up the lyrics to I'm Bo Yo before you listen to it.  His word play is hilARious!!
