A mix on Pandora.com they are Playing Beyond Fear... LOVE Tim "Ripper" Owens voice. While I have always been influenced vocally by Rob Halford of Priest and Bruce Dickensin of Maiden, Ripper is one of my huge favorites who I admire a ton.

Love Pandora.com as I can put in what I want and they play it. So I have my Hair Metal mix withthe likes of Poisen, Faster Pussycat, Dokken, Ratt, Lynch Mob. ANd then change over to my metal mix of Maiden, Sabbath, Priest, Hammerfall, Symphorce. ANd then to my mellow with Blackmores Night, Enya, and then onto the New Wave of Belin, Blondie, Devo, Adam Ant.

Oh Nevermore just kicked in.

Lady de Laney, you and I must have been brother in sister in a previous life or it's just cool coincidence we like the same bands well, there's a few on your list I've never heard of or not a big fan of but have heard. Keep rocking on and mellowin out. Today I was listening to Blind Melon, the album with the song No Rain on it, it's one of the few alternative band cd's I have in my collection. Yeah, you figured me out, I Wanna Rock is my favorite song by Twisted Sister. We're Not Gonna Take It, is good, but I hear it too much on the radio the aforementioned not so much. Ripper sounds a good deal like Halford I seen him live here in Michigan at The Palace of Auburn Hills, was a good show, he come ridin out on a Harley like Halford use to. And of course Bruce Dickensin, I didn't know he was a pilot as well. I seen him on a show about the Top 10 Warplanes in the world and he was praising the Spitfire fighter of course from England. I just found it weird that he'd be on such a show about some thing historical. I figured he'd be out partying, or driving a fast car. Pretty cool. I've found though most fans of metal and the musicians themselves are quite cultured people, and I'm not flattering. I'm stating a fact. To prove that the stereotypes aren't always true.

I dig Tim Owens, but don't like Rob Halford much... Dunno why.

White Zombie's re-make of Black Sabbath's 'Children of The Grave'. It sounds cool as all get out. At the beginning of the song, it talks about the 1969 murder of Sharon Tate. I think it's Sharon Tate....

Really odd surf bands...

The Ghastly Ones - They are awesome!
Los Straitjackets - They even have a Christmas album.

I just made a recording of myself playing keyboard, first the hymns in double organ, then the hymns in double strings. I made it as a Christmas gift for my Mom, who is 84. She paid for 10 years of piano lessons for me, so it's the least I can give back to her. So, yeah, I had to listen to it, to make sure it was ok.  ;D

Thanks Lord Wriothsley, I hope she likes it. I haven't played in 35 years, so I was a *bit* rusty. It's not perfect, by any means.

It's the effort that counts. And that's excellent you can play so well after not playing for so long. There was a time when I didn't play guitar for months during the summer and when fall and winter come, I couldn't even remember how to play certain songs. I wish I had a musical memory as good as your's. I can remember trivia and science and history like nothing, but when it comes to music I have a hard time recalling what I've learned. So you mother should appreciate the hard work you put into that piece.

Lady L

Aw, thanks for understanding, Poldugarian Warrior!
It turned out pretty good, with a few mistakes here and there. My Mom liked it, too.
My friend is a wonderful musician, he plays several instruments and sings. He said it would come back to me, although it took  a few months. I just kept at it, starting with easy beginner songs, then progressing to more difficult pieces. I am so glad I got back into it, with his encouragement.
I suppose I am now at "intermediate level."  :)
Being right handed, trebel clef came back to me much faster. Left hand/bass clef was a bit slower.
I hope you continue, Poldugarian Warrior. I love guitar.  ;D
I can only play one song on guitar, I never had any lessons on that. My friend plays guitar really well and I love to listen to him.
Thanks!

I still play off and on. One thing I wish I would've learned is how to read actual music, because it gives you the timing of notes. I read tabulature, but unless I know the song I have no idea of the timing of notes so I can't play a song I've never heard before, and make it sound correct. But, I never really aspired to be a professional musician back in high school I had ideas of being in a bar band, but with responsibilities of real life, I let that dream go by the wayside.
