Cantecroy Castle (also spelled: Kantekrooi) is located southeast of Antwerp, Belgium.
map coordinates 51.176926, 4.463125
This castle was originally built in the early thirteenth century in the province of Antwerp and may arise from a Frankish alodium. It is first mentioned in 1239 , when Arnold of Cantincrode signed a charter. The building of the castle was at least a decade prior to that date. Within sight of the castle are one of the 'crown' forts built in 1870 to protect the city of Antwerp.

The town itself has its origins as a Roman fort. In the Middle Ages the Travnik area is known as the Zupa LaSva province of the medieval Bosnian kingdom. The castle was probably built shortly after 1200 and is first mentioned by Bela IV of Hungary in 1244.

I asked, and found out that those two large pieces of the wall (bottom-left in all three photos) fell during the 1950's.  The ladies who were working in the Ice Cream Parlor at the Castle were too young to remember them falling, but said that the people in the village felt the impact.  I can believe it, since the pieces of masonry are each as big as a large car.

Take Care,

Kamerlengo is a castle and fortress in Trogir, Croatia.
map coordinates 43.515278, 16.2475
It was built by the Republic of Venice as part of an expansion of the Veriga Tower, built on the site in the late 14th century. Camerlengo in Italian is the name of a Papal Office, though I don't know if that had any connection with why the castle was given this name.
