Looking for a gypsy skirt...

One of my friends purchased a gypsy skirt from the florida renaissance festival about 3 years ago.  She does not remember what the name of the vendor was where she got it from.  I have been searching for the same type of skirt and cannot find it anywhere.

It is a long black gypsy skirt (approx. 25 yards?) with lots of layers.  It has a raised front, meaning the cut of the front goes up to the knees.  It kind of looks like a burlesque gypsy skirt, or a can-can gypsy skirt.  It also has ribbons in the raised part in which one can hike it up to make it look like a moulin rouge type skirt, kind of like this...


However, I don't want a full skirt to just tuck it up because there will be too much bunching at the waistline...can anyone help? Or let me know what this type of skirt is called?

It's looks just like a fantasy wild west showgirl or some other cabaret type skirt... I could only suggest looking at fantasy clothing makes for it or find a seamstress that has the time to put one together (which wouldn't be too hard but very time consuming).  good luck

This is a 25 yard skirt usually used for Tribal Bellydance. This pic looks like it's from the Tribal Nawaar website. They do sell these skirts in many colors.

You can also find these skirts on Ebay, under "tribal skirt" or "25 yard skirt."

They do not come with ribbons to tie them. Maybe that person added them, I am not sure. I do know of one lady that make custom skirts, and she does have ties on them. She calls it a pirate curtain skirt.
