Lady Ann, me too. I work at home, so there'd be nobody to notice if I dressed up or not, except Milord.  I'll be wearing my glow-in-the-dark bat socks and my haunted house sublimation T-shirt, though. :)

I could dress up, but Friday's my day off, no school, no work. but I do have a few parties to go to, hosted by rennies of course.

last weekend, a friend was hosting a big Halloween event for his neighborhood, kids come over, go along a haunted trail getting scared left and right as the parents sit back at the house. then after all that, into the back of the trailer for a hayride down to the local cemetery.  I showed up with something of a highwayman/ brigand look. my brown suede sleeves (started off as a pair of chaps I made when I 1st started renfaires, they've had some modifications), black leather jerkin, dark green wool cloak (thank god for that, it was cold hiding behind gravestones waiting to scare the kids) and a deep brown hooded cowl.

this weekend, I'll be going to a themed party as Sweeney Todd, but its going to be a stretch since I havent cut my hair yet, and not really enough time, and I'm not too thrilled about shaving, (though I HAVE almost finished making the double breasted vestcoat. all thats left is to finish the buttons.

Little Bit is gonna be a werepup. He is gonna be too cute!

But as for me I am gonna be the good ol stand by, my nice warm purple velvet skirt, black vamp shirt, purple stripy tights, boots, captains coat and the pirate hat...

all this for an hour of trick or treating but its way better than freezing my cookies off..

... I didn't think far enough ahead... I have all of the stuff to do a makeshift pirate, four fairies (which i've done a bunch of times) and of course ren garb.. I also have the stuff to do some fun witch costumes... Unfortunatly for everything except the fairies i've left the major signifiers for each of those at home.. and i'm at college with no job.

for example, my Maiden boots are at home, as well as my head scarf, and i don't have a hat.
my ren garb- my skirt and chemise are at home
my witch costume- my hat is not here, and that's major, nor do i have a wand.... altho i do have some chopsticks... maybe i can do that...
fairy- i went to fest as a fiary this year and twice last year, as well as last year for halloween and this year for a small party in my dorm... i'm kinda tired of it...

I love the Damsel bodice and it doesn't boost my "girls" up so far I'd feel awkward wearing it at work (though I did, actually, see someone there in wench gear last year.).

Hmmm...

Lady Rosalind

My son is going as a Jedi (still sewing, of course), as he has his first high school Halloween party at a friend's house. We are dressing up at work, and I am going as Joan from Mad Men http://blogs.amctv.com/mad_men_season_2_fashions_womenswear/season-2-fashion-joan.php. I found a dress at Target that is very much influenced by Mad Men, found some great heels at the Salvation Army store, and great jewelry from Goodwill. Now, if only I can get the hair right...

I love Halloween!!!

For work, I'm just bringing my shoulder dragon. I don't think that dressing up is entirely welcome in my office, so if it's a complete no go I can always just put him in a drawer until I go home.

But for the evening, I'm busting out my "Governor's Daughter" dress from a few seasons ago, adding an ENORMOUS wig and painting my face dead white with a bloody gash around my neck. Boom- instant Marie Antoinette.

Lady L

Me three, gem and Lady Ann, I have lots of garb, but no one would see me in it, as I work at home. My grandaughter is wearing her noble gown and french hood, though. R took off, so we are planning on sitting out on the patio, with the candy. I might wear my wool cape again.

I decided to wear my little bo peep outfit from last halloween.  It was easy to put together quickly and also modest enough for work. I wore a long sleeve shirt instead of the short sleeve, but otherwise it's just the same.

I just put on a pink corsety-bodice thing (terribly un-historical i know... but I don't care!) over a button down white shirt (don't want too much cleavage at a highschol) and a light pink skirt a little bit bunched up over some of those footless tights with the lace on the edges too look kinda like bloomers. Then add a floppy hat and a mini sheep..... viola Little Bo Peep.

it turned out really cute and even though some dolt called me a pilgrim, I got a lot of compliments! lots of people are really just fascinated by corsets!

Athena

I haven't dressed in a couple of years.  :(

The last time I went to a Halloween party I wore an old witch hat I got at Wal Mart several years ago and an even older long black dress. I did wear a couple of things from my garb closet, black boots and a black belt. I hung various rubber creepy crawlies from the belt instead of a pouch and mug.  :)

Dang, now I'm going through faire AND Halloween withdrawal!

Captain Jack Wolfe

Last night I went to my next door neighbour's Halloween/birthday party in my usual ren clothes, those of Captain Jack Wolfe, with the notable exception of wearing a leather wolf mask.  My last night of the year to howl.  ;)

Lady Kathleen of Olmsted

I dressed up in my Gothic Bride ensemble. Gaoth makeup, Black Wig, Black Toule veil with sparkles, and Black Lace and burgandy gown. The kiddies loved it when I gave them their candy. They thought I was a Vampire at first until I smiled and showed that I was not wearing fangs.

Then later, went out with friends to the local Perkins for supper.

I had door duty and was passing out the candy. I didn't really have a costume, so I put on a black robe I made for faire, and a white, leather skull mask. I just wore jeans and a tee shirt under it.

I was out of the office all week, but we've asked before, and our department admins shot it down. They're so afraid to step outside their tiny little comfort zone! Sometimes people just have to be dragged out kicing & screaming, though, so next Halloween I just might show up in the brand new tricorn I made from a reshaped cowboy hat- about the worst that can happen is, I have to take it off if I go outside the office.
