I would have to vote for Twig as the favorite for children of all ages, but I do dearly love the Trollop Rhianna. She has such a unique look and such a sweet personality.  I wish Scarborough had the cute little Clare de Lune that was seen at Four Winds and visited Sherwood Forest Faire.
Reyna Marguerite Regina d'Navarre
Royal Order of Landsharks #45
Keeper of the Hairless Cats
Artist of Crescent Moon

DonaCatalina

Mad Owyn Fisher has long been one of our favorites, even before he was a commoner.

I miss Doctor House and his leeches from last season, too funny.

Fauna Follywoll is great. I did not know that there was a Mr. Follywoll, I look forward to meeting him..

Do the members of the Royal Guard count Your Majesty?  Cause if they do....my list just got longer

They count as Court, which is Noble, Royal and those who attend them. The Italian prince (Ercole) and the two Spaniards count as court/noble.

It's somewhat complex.

Thought as much. :D

Also....Twig.....she's just a whole different thing.....she's her OWN group....and she's awesome.

I think this is a great topic as the villagers are absolutely fabulous. They have to work extra hard at being noticed since they aren't in the "Hey, look at me, I'm sparkly, you can't miss me!" costumes.

A complete cast list can be found at http://www.srfestival.com/sapa-cast/fun/sapa-cast.html in case you want to check for your favorite characters and see if they are noble or not. Sure, there are some that get complicated. Lady Mary Brandon and Lady Eleanor Brandon are technically not noble but they have the complimentary title of "Lady" based on the fact their father is a Duke. However, like the Royal Guard and a few others, they travel with the court and would therefore not be eligible for this topic since they do not live in the village.

I thought about taking the cast list and separating out all those who would be eligible in this category, but the list was too long! Hooray for having a lot of excellent villagers strolling about the village of Scarborough!

Also, Twig the Fairy and Rhianna the Troll are masquers and not cast members. A general rule is if a character is a mythical being, they are not on cast.

I mostly hang out with the nobles (Scottish and English Courts) and the Scottish regiment. Other than those my favorites would be in no particular order:

1. The new joust troupe. Much more interactive with the faire than previous groups. I do see more of this because my wife is working with them, but I would probably think that anyway.

2. FOF folks. They don't just give me ice water, but do it with a very friendly and caring manner. They will suggest things such as "Drink now and I will refill it before you leave."

3. Woodrat. Not sure how to describe what he does, but he does interact with patrons a lot.

4. Twig. Being beautiful does help get her on my list, but it is her interaction with kids that makes her a real asset to the faire.

5. Sarah the Harpist. Afternoons at the Eagle Crossing Bridge are my favorite times of day at the faire. Beautiful woman, relaxing music, a place to sit, shade, a cool breeze coming up from the creek, and interesting conversations, that is a wonderful combination. The rest of the year it is the place my mind goes when I need to get away for a while.

It may be slightly off topic, as they are seldom seen, but the people who take care of the grounds deserve a "huzzah!" from all of us. If you've not been to a preview day before, you'd look around and think that there is no way that the village will be ready for opening day, but for the past two years, we've come down for preview then returned the following week for opening weekend (we're 5.5 hours away). It's amazing the amount of work that gets done in such a short period.

For all the people behind the scenes, I think I can safely say that you have all our thanks.

I won't choose a favourite villager because that's like choosing a favourite child. They're all my favourite.  :-*

Ercole is the great swordfighter at the chess match that I'm thinking of.  I'm familiar with Viggiani in 'real life' so I knew it wasn't him. Just mixed up my Italians and Spanish!

I am enjoying reading through people's favorite villagers (and a few nobles and other visitors to the village). We have so many fabulous characters on cast, each one possessing different personalities and talents. Some of the ones mentioned here are a huge presence in the lanes (i.e. Mad Owen) and I expected to be listed. However, some are quieter, less outspoken, but no less personable (i.e. Master Woodturner). Both characteristics speak to the audience in different ways, and it is lovely to see the quieter ones receive recognition for their work and know they are integral to creating the magic of Scarborough for those who enter into the gates.

For those unfamiliar with our villagers, I urge you to meet them and get to know them to enrich your visit to Scarborough.

Queen Margaret

Okay kids...WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE NOBLE? (Kings and Queens are not eligible)

;D

Noble: Semi-royal or really high-born, in line for the throne somewhere along the line or related to royalty by blood or marriage. Hint: lots of velvet; ladies in hoops.
