Well, I'm glad I can finally get logged onto the board again, thanks to John...BUT....I hate that this has to be my first post.
First, Please say prayers for my mom.  I just got home from Tenn Ren and got the call that she had to go into the hospital for heart surgery on Tuesday.  It turned out that they had to put in a stint.  Well....they removed the sheath from her leg and she seemed to be somewhat stabilized, so we started home.  We got about 20 minutes down the road and got a call from her nurse to get back to the hospital immediately...mom had had a heart attack!  They don't know why or how.  The doctor is completely stumped.  They took her back into surgery and put in a new stint.  She's feeling better now, but her tests aren't coming back normal so they're keeping her in until they do, or until they discover the problem through other tests.
And....while we're dealing with this situation, my niece tried to commit suicide for the 4th time in about 2 months.  But this time, she did it in front of the hospital by throwing herself out into oncoming traffic.  Police and paramedics witnessed it and they rushed her away to a mental hospital.  Mom didn't need this and neither did my sister.  It's been a nightmare here since I got home.  So, I'm asking for prayers for all of us!  I love you all and I know how wonderful you are.  I hope these situations get better, but it's making me reconsider my decision to travel and work the faires full-time.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes where my son is concerned.  He's doing better now.  He's getting the help he needs and deserves and is getting his Army career in order.  Great news is...He just found out that he will NEVER be sent back to Iraq again...Thank God!!!!

Thank you, everyone for your prayers and positive energies.
Mom is now home, thank goodness!  I'm getting ready to take her to the hospital for follow-up labs, but at least she's basically out of the woods for now.
Ya know, we sometimes think we have all the time in the world to be with our loved ones, especially...Mom...but after this past experience, I realize with great clarity that she won't be around for a lot longer, and that I'm not ready to lose her.  I never will be, but I know I need to spend more time with her.  Of course, this means re-thinking the whole "full-time" Ren job.  I've got to pray on this.  I just don't want to leave her side right now.  Gees, I suddenly feel like a 6-year old.   :)
Again, thank you for your prayers.  I know they helped.
Love to all,

Jezzy, you and your family are in my prayers.  I hope that everything resolves itself as it should and there is as little grief and sorrow as need be.  Know that you are always amongst friends here and there are always shoulders to lean on.

Prayers are appreciated.
Mom's stable and doing all right.  The doctor says he's done all that can be done.  Now it's just a matter of time, waiting and spending as much good time with her as we can.  She's actually started working a very part time job doing file work for my own doctor.  :)  I'm glad, it gives her something to do so she doesn't sit at home and think on things too much.
We all must get on with our lives now.

Hey Jezzy -

Lost my father in April, so I know the kind of fear of losing them that you are talking about. He was almost 90, and I was very lucky to have him as long as I did. Spend every moment that you can with your mother, and be grateful for each and every one of them. They mean so much to her, and you will cherish them for the rest of your life.

Best wishes.

Thank you, M'Lord.  I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.  It's been a couple of difficult years for us, and of course, for her, especially.  I'm just glad that she's finding something to do that gives her a sense that life is still worth living.  God knows we, as a family, have tried to convince her.  It's good to see her smiling again.  That means more to me than anything!

Hugs returned to you, and I look forward very much to meeting you.

My deepest sympathies to you, M'Lady.  I certainly feel for you.  No matter that it's a normal part of life, it still is a very fearful thing, isn't it?  I was so paralyzed with fear all last year that I gave up my job on the road with the faires.  I wanted to be by her side as much as possible.  I'm glad for the time I did spend with her.  We talked about so much, until there really wasn't much left to say and we began getting on each other's nerves.  :)

She finally told me that she was going to be fine, that she was ready to go if it was the Lord's will, and nothing I did was going to stop it.  I realized that, but it was so hard to let go, so she made me mad.  *LOL*
I know she did it on purpose so I'd stop "babying" her.  I can't help it, I'm her oldest child and she's my only mom, and when you witness your mother having a heart attack right in front of you, you tend to get very clingy.

Anyway, I decided it was time for me to get on with my own life, and at about the same time, she got that job with my doctor.   My sister also works in the office, so, should anything happen to mom, I know she'll be in the best hands possible.  My staying here, watching the clock tick on won't prevent the inevitable.

I'm glad I have this life of my own to help me through this.  I'm sure having your M'Crack family and faire family helped you through the loss of your father.  I do look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you.  :)  I have a very special hug waiting for you, My Dear.

Jezzy, I'm so glad your mother is doing better! She sounds like an amazing, resilient woman, and from what I've seen of her daughter I have no doubt!

Dear Jezzy -

I will definitely look forward to that hug, and I will expect to get it in Kentucky on the 4th of July weekend (I believe that somewhere you said you would be working there, then). And I am so thrilled that your mother has found a way to feel productive, again. That, and knowing that you are going on with your life, will make her happy, which in turn, will help her live longer and better. I think you are very lucky to have each other. And when the time does come, you will be sad, but your will have so many happy memories that you will know that she will never be gone. She will be with you always.
