Dog Thrown From Window After Fight

OMAHA, Neb. -- A fight ends with the family pet thrown out of a window.

Police said it happened at the Jackson Tower Apartments near 28th Street and St. Mary's Avenue on Thursday night.

Police said 28-year-old Metrelle Dailey and his girlfriend had been arguing. In the process, Dailey picked up Domino -- a rat terrier mix -- pulled off a window screen and tossed the dog out, police said.

The dog fell nine stories and died from its injuries.

"It's terrible. We see instances of this a lot, where people get very upset, domestic violence ensues and pets are oftentimes victims," said Pam Wiese, of the Nebraska Humane Society.

Dailey is charged with torture to animals, a Class 4 felony.

   My thoughts exactly.  That building is part of the low income housing (putting it nicely) projects and I doubt the BF was supposed to be in the apartment in the first place.  I thought there were guards required an all windows above the first floor.  I hope she loses her apartment over this.

What's scary is, I used to have a gun shop with my dad. In that first video, I've seen or known folks that every one of those incidents have happened to. I could tell some stories you would not believe...

I'm all in favor of low/no emission cars, but why do all of them do away with cargo and people room in the process?  How am I supposed to take my son (still a baby, so requires car seat and various other bags and such) and my 6' tall husband camping in something like that?  I don't think I could even fit me, my laptop bag and purse, and a second person into that car!

The article link in that post on the phone booth car discusses the plans for a model or version that will have cargo capacity and other options.   

Unless it grows considerably, it still would be like a speed bump for some things still on the road.   I think these are good for like 25 miles and more for the idea of urban area transport.
