Yes there is a full bar inside the Rose & Crown.
There were only 5 barstools last weekend that had a few permanently glued derrieres on them.
The selection of alcohol is getting better as Paul the bartender gets feedback from patrons.

So this means now that there is a full bar, we will get hassled, 'by the man' about the contents of our flasks  ??? :(

Well, technically, since alcohol is served inside the gates, there should be nothing to be hassled about inside said flasks anyway...   ::)

I have never understood the logic of not being able to bring booze into a place that sells booze if you're still paying to get in and buy booze while there anyways.
Makes no sense to me.

*and I am bringing my boda in regardless... so neener*

I don't think anyone has ever accused lawmakers of the Sin of Logic (the little known 8th Deadly Sin).  Arkansas is heavily infected with "holier-than-thous" and it has had a strange effect on things. Alcohol by the drink was not allowed until the early 70s. Prior to that, you could take a "brown bag" into almost any upper level restaurant without any problem. (McDonald's wasn't crazy about the concept.)

Other "Blue Laws" didn't get repealed until the late 80s/early 90s. Retail stores that you expect to be open these days were not allowed to open in Arkansas on Sunday. Grocery stores could open, but were limited as to what they could sell. One of the strangest things was, you could buy certain types of dog food, and you couldn't buy certain types of baby food. It was pretty a matter of stores opening despite the laws that finally convinced the legislature to change the law.

I wish someone from Scarby would make their presence known here to explain what the situation is. I hate rumours because people get all weird with them.

It was early the late 80's/ early 90's before blue laws started going away up  in southern Missouri. They still have the "No alcohol sold until noon" but at least it can be sold now, which was an improvement.  The biggest advocates for it was the Scotch/ Irish population.  They were strong about getting it going but it wasn't until a very rich local business owner wanted to restart the brewery that things started moving much faster.  When the city council said "No you can't sell any beer on Sunday" and he returned with a sheet of how much money the city was loosing in local sales tax and other such taxes, and how much more money they were going to get if had his micro brewery, that they  'somehow' decided that allowing alcohol was a good thing.
I had to laugh when I went to blue springs Arkansas about 15+ years ago.  There was a line that went from bluffs along the Table Rock Lake. Once you passed that line, you could buy alcohol, and the shore and floating pubs let you know it.  However soon as you crossed that line you couldn't have any alcohol. If the pubs so much as put a toe across that line, they were fined out out the wazoo.

To be honest, I'm one of those people who doesn't want a fuss. If what you do causes me to loose my zen, then don't do it.  If what you are doing doesn't, doesn't effect my zen, then more power to you.
It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

I don't think we want Scarby to officially take notice of who 'might' have a flask on them.

Sorry...didn't think of it in those terms, Doña.  It's been my observation that these things have a tendency to calm down after a while. If Scarborough has been issued a warning, there would most definitely be increased security with regards to alcohol. They may also be under heavier scrutiny over the new mixed drink license.
