Hey all! I'm thinking of branching out from CoRF and seeing what other festivals have (: I'm sure you get plenty of posts like this, but some questions for you all:

-How does Scarby feel about masked costumes? I'm assuming all would be well considering it is a Renaissance festival, but there are laws about such things and I'd rather be safe than sorry.
-From looking around some threads it seems that there is/was a morning meet up at row 12; is that still ongoing?
-What kind of temperatures/weather can I expect?
-Is there anything special going on on Memorial Day?
-And finally, what time would you recommend showing up? I know for my faire if you want decent parking showing up at around 9 with faire starting at 10 is necessary.

Thanks for any answers and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you!  ;D

I don't personally know of any problem with masks, but you might drop R/Fer Berit a personal message, or email the office, unless someone else here has the skinny on that. Seems to me that I've seen masked characters down there.

The meet in row 12 generally begins between 8-8:30.  Check HERE for who's planning on being there.

Coming on closing weekend, expect hot. Last year closing weekend, the temp hit 102, and Texas heat can be brutal with the typical high humidity. That was a bit hotter than normal, but who knows what normal is anymore?

On Memorial Day they will have veterans and active military join in the parade.

I think we're going to skip closing, but we'll see you at your faire during RenDezvous.

-What kind of temperatures/weather can I expect? This weekend is unusual, high of 70 predicted. Usually the norm for late May is 85-90.

-Is there anything special going on on Memorial Day? A lot more out-of-town people show up on Memorial day. There are several private Memorials going on during the day and the largest Renfair Veterans' Parade is Monday.-

And finally, what time would you recommend showing up? 8:30 am

...look for the gold saturn with the Spanish flag, or the gray ford escape with the Scots.

OMG he posted. I'm going to go faint now...  ::)

You've got all the good advice already Fireflicker! Hope to meet you either at Scarby or CoRF! We saw you last year at CoRF but didn't have a chance to visit!

call the office, hot hot hot, row 12, 8-8:30 AM.  :)

AFA masks go, I've seen many fantasy characters with them.

The only thing else I can add is about the weather.  From personal experience, expect it to be hot, or warm and possibly wet (meaning possibly lots of mud.)  There's almost always at least one day out of the last three where we have a few storms blow through it, but they're usually short & sometimes cool things off...however, the more likely scenario is dry, hot & sticky.
