Actually, most of us have jobs in one form or another, so usually, no.  At least to my limited knowledge.

There is a group of RF'ers that plans to meet at SOTS at 10 am each day.. but do be sure to stop at Foaming too!! We're spread out all over the place this year!!  ;)

What is SOTS?  I will meet there on Labor Day.

Are we planning on doing some "pre-flight-ing" in the parking lot beforehand?

Also, I was on the MN RF site, and can find no mention of their (your) Friends of the Fair program.  Where is the info?

Muffin

SOTS is a pub at MNRF by the water wheel and across from King of the Log. A few of us from the forum will be working over there this year (Capt. Bacardi, Toar, Dreg, and me).

Due to so many people working on site we haven't had a parking lot pre-party for quite some time, but I will leave that answer to someone who is not working..  :)

I have no info on FoF, sorry... but I do believe that you can purchase daily and or weekend passes on site.

Here ya go, Butch!  Our Fest Friends organization is fantastic!  You can get a weekend pass so you always have a place to keep your purchases, sit in the shade, chat with friends, grab some water or lemonade...  Plus, it is a great place to people watch!

Nothing clever to say here.  Not enough caffine yet.

Butch

Cool.  I will fill out my Fest Friends request very soon!

Will go to the SOTS spot.  I pulled up a map, is it in the SW area of the map?

Thank-you for all of the scoop!

Yep.. When you are looking at the map you should see the tower bottle pub and King of the Log, we are right across from there, with the Dungeon thing behind us and the Water Wheel and sports bar next to us.

Ok, that makes more sense. I thought you meant you were in the sports bar for awhile. I'd always avoided Sots, or rather the neighboring wine booth, they were icky there (a good 9-10 years ago).

Kate is right. Most of the RF'ers who use to do the pre cannon parking lot get togethers and 10:00 am meet ups (at the Mead Booth, then the Stein and now this year at SOTS) work at faire in some capacity or another now. There are very few of us wandering playtrons from that group left. But, being wandering playtrons is what Gin and I like and what we plan on continuing to be! We usually get there some time around 10 am and will now head to SOTS for our morning breakfast beer then began our meanderings. We know where everyone works so like to wander from place to place through out the course of the day. I imagine our "hot spots" this year will be SOTS, Willins, Fest Friends and the Stein (got to still go there too as we know many of the people who still work there)! Those will probably be the places we will be most often. Kinda nice that it works out that all those places are on the same end of the grounds!...
