This is probably going to be the most vulnerable I have been in a LOOONNNNNGGGG time, or heck ever, because I'm sharing this with you, but fairemily is fairemily, so bear with me! :)

Today is my math final, and needless to say, I'm pretty stressed out about it.

This math class is supposed to be the last class I take before I am elligible to transfer to a 4 year university. I've struggled for years with math, and after a while, sadly, it does mess with your head. Especially when you see kids that not only you went to school with that were younger than you, but former students as well, passing you up in terms of classes.

This also means a great deal to me because of our cub-ette that will be arriving next year. I don't want to be a failure to my child. I want to be able to say that I didn't quit, that I didn't give up. I have prayed for this every night since I can remember and the day is finally here to where I take my final and really see how I am in this class. It's almost like, this is the last ferry boat before I get to the magical island, I just need to have the correct change to get off the boat.

Any prayers/well-wishes/energy vibes will be very much appreciated. I feel like a one-woman army with this.

Prayers are with you.   I had the same exact feelings for my Algebra and worse, Chemistry finals.   I made a B in both.  Not up to my usual standards, since I was an honor student, but good enough to pass.
It doesn't hurt to let the teacher know you are really nervous about it.

Just read over the formula and notes, then quiz yourself informally here and there.
  GOOD LUCK!

*sending positive energies*

Also note that not being good at math will NOT make you a failure for your little one. Your love for her and your desire to have a loving and stable environment for her already makes you a success to her!

I'm sending you lots of positive energies and thoughts.  Take you army and conquer that math test!

I know how you feel about math, I have a slight case of dyslexia and math is extremely hard for me.  Remember age is just a number and don't let it affect your performance.  You will do well on your test.  ;D

Good luck.

Oh, Maeven! You can't possibly be a failure to your child, regardless of your prowess, or lack thereof, with regards to math!

Math can be daunting. It was one of the major factors that blew me out of college 40 years ago. I never went back, but I should have...for any degree. Now, I'm eligible to go to college for free because I'm an old coot. I might...might not.

Listen, Hon... I work at a university around kids ... young adults ... who are brilliant. I feel like a total dumb-arse sometimes. But "smarts" is relative. I've been a computer programmer for 35 years and have had IT professionals with degrees and certifications come to me for help, but can't hire me because of the lack of degree. Meh... I'm just fine. You will be, too.  I'm sending wizardwoos to you.

Thank you all so much for all your positive words. I took the test last night, and I really tried my best as I always do. For a 27 question test, I took 3 hours, which was great because I was able to really focus on what I needed to focus on without having to worry about time or any other setbacks. I will get my results next week so keep your fingers crossed, everyone! :)

Grades are in...

and I passed!

I just sat there and cried goofy tears of happiness in front of the laptop for a few minutes.

I want to thank all of you again for your prayers, well-wishes, positive energy and positive thoughts. I can't tell you how much it means to me. All of you are wonderful for thinking of me. *big hugs*
