It is always sad when one of our own passes.
It hurts even more when you knew them personally.

Kevin Zody passed away last night.

If you do not know him by his given name, he was also known as the
Master Huntsman, or Liam Hunter on cast.
He help run the Archery Tournaments and the Archery booth.
Some younger patrons thought of him as Robin Hood.

He was not old, he was not sick.
They say it was heart attack that took him.
I am sad he had to go, but, if he was needed elsewhere
then they got one of the best now.

Fairwell, Master Huntsman.

This a real shock Kevin was one of my favorite people in or out of faire.  We had an amazing amount of fun during the Archery Tournaments.   Kevin was very encouraging to everyone that came by the range to shoot and was always willing to help people learn the art.   I also always enjoyed his fights at the chessmatch he was a wonderful performer and a great guy who will really be missed.

If someone could point out a photo I would appreciate it. There are so many faces I know but didn't always have a name.

A few lines by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle for Kevin aka Laim Hunter as fine an archer that ever put arrow to string.

What of the bow?
The bow was made in England:
Of true wood, of yew wood,
          The wood of English bows;
            So men who are free
            Love the old yew tree
And the land where the yew tree grows.

          What of the cord?
The cord was made in England:
A rough cord, a tough cord,
          A cord that bowmen love;
            So we'll drain our jacks
            To the English flax
And the land where the hemp was wove.

          What of the shaft?
The shaft was cut in England:
A long shaft, a strong shaft,
          Barbed and trim and true;
            So we'll drink all together
            To the gray goose feather
And the land where the gray goose flew.

          What of the men?
The men were bred in England:
        The bowman--the yeoman--
The lads of dale and fell
            Here's to you--and to you;
To the hearts that are true
And the land where the true hearts dwell.
Beware of him that is slow to anger: He is angry for something, and will not be pleased for nothing.

Oh this is sad!  Fellow archer, fellow huntsman, always a friend.  I will miss him greatly.  Scarborough will not be the same.

Yes, very sad indeed  :'(
Scarborough, especially the chess match where I saw him most, will definitely not be the same.
My condolences to all his family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dragons of Autumn Twilight
Novel by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman
Poetry by Michael Williams

The Sun
The Splendid eye
Of all our heavens
Dives from the day,

And leaves
The dozing sky,
Spangled with fireflies,
Deepening in gray.

Now Sleep,
Our oldest friend,
Lulls in the trees
And calls
Us in.

The leaves
Give off cold fire,
They blaze into ash
At the end of the year.

And birds
Coast on the winds,
And the wheel to the north
When autumn ends.

The day grows dark,
The seasons bare,
But we
Await the sun's
Green fire upon
The trees.

The wind
Dives through the days.
By season, by moon
Great kingdoms arise.

The breath
Of firefly, of bird,
Of trees, of mankind
fades in a word.

Now Sleep,
Our oldest friend,
Lulls in the trees
And calls
Us in.

The Age,
The thousand lives
Of men and their stories
Go to their graves.

But We,
The people long
In poem and glory
Fade from the song.
