Perhaps what that loathsome tripe "Enterprise" was supposed to be...I can't wait!

JJ Abrams is attempting to do with Star Trek what Russell T. Davies did with Dr. Who; take an ageing franchise, breathe new life into it, and in the process draw a new generation of fans by making it exciting, intelligent, and *gasp!* sexy.

I wish him success.

I had many, many doubts about this when I first heard about it (how can you re-do Kirk?!? or ANY of the original cast for that matter?!?).  Then, I saw the trailer for it when I went to see Quantum of Solace.  Now, I can't wait to see it, because it looks like it may actually be GOOD!

I haven't been following this particular project, but it does seem like there have been some movies released over the last few years where all of the good footage was included in the trailer.  ::)  :D

I also saw the trailer for it when we went to see Quantum of Solace.  It looks like it might be good & I think we'll catch a matinee when it comes out.  (Two great things about matinees: First, there are generally fewer people which means fewer annoyances, and Second, if the movie sucks, at least we didn't pay full price!  ;D 0

I second the matinee.  And the fact that lately all of the good footage makes up the trailer (very, very sad).  I'm really hoping that Abrams can breathe life into it, but if he does, he needs to stay on top of it.  I'm tired of the let downs (Casino Royal = amazing, Quantum of Solace= eh.. yeah, I'll skip the commentary for that one).

Looks like it's worth going to see.  And I may have a brand new crush on Spock...

Oh god!  You too?

I have made opening day for every Star Trek film, sadly as late the best thing about them has been the popcorn and skipping work!  I will be certain to make this one.

Oh, and ladies, it's the ears.  Give Orlando Bloom pointy ears, call him Legolas, and he's sexier times 10.

Same thing happens to us guys.  From female Romulan captians to Catwoman, pointy ears oh my!

The ultamate fantasy couple?...

The cast looks interesting. Spock is the same guy who plays Syler in "Heroes." Winona Ryder as his mom??? Simon Pegg of "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead" playing Scotty. I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing this one when it comes out.

RumbaRue

WOW!!!!!

This looks really incredible!

Now my hopes are up that we may yet see the return of decent sci-fi to the big screen!

Boy after seeing that trailer I second that  *evil grin*  but then I love his character syler in Heroes.  Something about his demeanor is just Yummy :)

I've been a trecky all my life :)  I'm definitely ready to see where they take it.
