What a sweet little girl... and what a heartwarming story! She must bring you so much joy!

She definitely does! She's got one of the loudest purrs I've heard, and we do everything we can to encourage it  ;D

May I present our kitten {well, she's a 'teen-ager' now} Nergal {not to be confused with 'nargle' - lol}-

...

She's such a happy and loving cat, and my husband and I have completely fallen in love with her... and she's been snuggling and getting into things and just generally developing into a very wonderful, smart, beautiful young cat ever since she found us.

Sounds like she's found some very good humans to own ... LOL!  ;)

I know I've mentioned my darling boy Nugget before, and his numerous health woes....most recently the tumor on his leg that we first noticed in September.  Anyway, barring a miracle, it looks like we're putting him down on Wednesday.  He's been licking and biting at the tumor so badly that it started to bleed and despite our attempts to keep it bandaged, it's gotten infected.  So really we're waiting on whatever the vet might say tomorrow morning, but it's not looking too good.  Mom is worried that it's going to turn gangrenous in the next 24 hours.  I can't get home to see him until Wednesday so I begged her not to put him down until I got there to be with him.

I will let everyone know what happens....

Oh Zoe, I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending prayers and comforting thoughts your way, dear, and wishing that his passing is painless.
Still Meggers, just a little more grown up now. :)

Also sending prayers for you, Nugget, and the rest of your family.

Sending you hugs! This part is never easy!  Good you will get to tell him goodbye!
Hope his passing is easy and painless. I am so sorry Zoe.

The vet says he has about a week before the infection kills him naturally.  He wrapped up the trouble spot and gave him antibiotics and painkillers so that he can at last hold out comfortably for another few days and I don't have to rush home tomorrow afternoon (and ruin the rest of my first week of classes)....so we'll probably be putting him down this weekend.

Zoe, this is never easy. I had to go through it twice this past year.
May he have a gentle and peaceful passing and the strength for you to be alright with it.
Show me your tan lines..and I'll show you mine!

I just want to be Layla.....

Queen Bonnie

At least you have time to prepare. I went through it with my Fuzz Ball last Summer. HUGS!  he will always live in your memories!

Late chiming in, but I'm so sorry for you Zoe.  I know how painful this must be.

Last month I posted that I was having a problem with my cat peeing on my counter.  I hope I don't jinx anything, but the offending behavior seems to have stopped.  I came up with the idea of sprinkling cat nip on the counter, hoping to turn the area into a "happy spot" for her, and it seems to have worked.  She loves the catnip and goes nuts over it, and hasn't done anything bad since I started sprinkling it there.I 've had to deal with cat nip all over the counter, but I'll take that over the other.   Now I just have to try taking the catnip away and see what happens....

Queen Bonnie

Great idea about the cat nip. Cats don't pee where they eat. Glad it is working out!

Better hope the police never visit your place when you've got the nip spread out all over the counter!  That stuff looks too much like marijuana, haha.

On the Nugget front, we are still playing the waiting game.  He's got painkillers to last him through Saturday, but I don't know how it'll be when they run out.  I haven't seen him yet but my parents say that each day he does all right, but every day after that he gets progressively less active.  Yesterday he was coming up and down the stairs by himself but hasn't at all today, so...we'll see how this weekend goes.  Thanks all for the support.

Heehee,  I just thought the other day that I needed to go to store to get more kitty pot!
