I know we are all in the middle of holiday chaos, and not thinking much about future plans...but the time goes so quickly, we thought it was a good idea to start tossing out the ideas for this year's gathering.

Stacy and Michael (Anne/Brogan) found a wonderful facility that would be perfect for our gathering, with plenty of room, overnight accomodations, full kitchen, restrooms and showers! A beautiful main room including a fireplace to enhance the festive mood and keep the chill away! The learning center is 6 miles from Mumsies, following the main road.
We stopped out today and took photos for you to have a look.

In checking dates, there is only one Saturday available in March, so we want to make sure as many folks can make it as possible, before we make a definite. However, please note, that if we don't book for this date, there is a chance that we will not have any other place to do the winter gathering. The available date is March 7th, 2009

Anyone wishing to stay the night, (and we would prefer that you do, not take a chance driving if you have no designated driver)..there are six of the bunk rooms, sleeping 4 if you don't mind bunks. For those who prefer, there is plenty of room for folks to set up an air mattress, either in the main room, or the eating hall. (we figure we will do food set up in half of the eating hall, leaving plenty of room for extra sleeping space) There are also showers, making things a little more convenient for overnight.

So, that being said, lets hear your thoughts and ideas. Stacy has graciously agreed to help me get this all organized...so let the planning begin.

How do you feel about $5.00 per person to help cover the cost of the building?

This will be another BYOB and covered dish/snack...is this okay with everyone?

Garb or not? That is the question.

Do we have enough folks interested to make this official and get the plans underway?

Unfortunately, we have no option for snow dates, so we will have to hope for good weather, unless everyone wants to squeeze in at Mumsies...so, lets hope for the best!

Well Bonnie, I'll be the first to respond here.  I'm not going to be able to attend due to family plans. I think the same goes for Morwyn, but she can pipe in on her own.  Much has gone on these pasts several months that require a great deal of my time and attention to my family - not my immediate spouse and son, but parents and in-laws.  I'm sure you're much acquainted with those issues.  If something changes, I shall let you know!

Not the best weekend for me becaue I usually book some heavy gigs that close to St. Patrick's but if that's when it is, then that's the date I'll keep open.  A couple of weeks earlyier in February would be better but don't change it for me.

I vote for GARB.

That looks like a wonderful place for a winter gathering!  I'd be willing to kick in a share of the cost.

Angela will be working that weekend, but if March 7 is the only available date, then I'll make it work.  Somehow I'll manage without her (sigh).

Like last year, I don't think we should throw anyone out for NOT wearing garb.  But it's nice to take out the cold-weather garb, so I vote GARB.

Unless, of course, you come from the lands without snow. In which case "cold weather garb" means two pairs of poofy pants.  ;D

Sorry folks, the only date that we could get the center was on the 7th. With everyone so busy these days, I know it isn't going to work for all, but hopefully, we will still have enough people interested to make it a good time.

Sarai, you just let someone know if you're feeling cold.  We'll see what we can do.   ::)

Sorry about that...I guess that little detail would be a bit helpful, eh?

If you type "Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center, Ford City, PA" into a Google Maps search, it will bring up a good map so you can get a general idea of the location. The physical location of the Center is 142 Kerr Rd., Ford City.

I'll try to get precise directions posted as time draws near.

Greetings, all.  In preparation for our upcoming gathering, I would just like to say that although we have many talented performers/entertainers in our group, none of you are expected to perform at renstock.  That is not to say that you cannot perform if it is truly your desire to do so, but please do not feel that you must.  We want this to be a time to relax and enjoy good food, good ale, and the warmth of our fairemly.

I look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces again soon!

Blessings,
Anne

Any of our Colorado fairemly that can make the trip is certainly more than welcome to join us!  Overnight accommodations are available on-site and I'm sure other lodging is available nearby.

wow...one misses alot when one doesnt poke at the forum huh?

well...here's me chiming in.  As of this moment....we've nothing scheduled for the march 7th date.

That could change though as I havent gotten my 2009 schedule from the zoo finalized yet.

After that icy mess last year, I dont think weather should even be a factor.
Hope everyone's having a good new year!!
