I'm hoping to make it to Faire several times this year...
So, I was wondering...is there a certain campground, or motel that alot of people stay at? I LOVE to camp, and that would be ideal for me...especially if there were other Rennies camping.

I know this is months in advance, but that gives time to make sure $$ is available.  ;D

Candlewood suites in Huntersville is nice.  It's one of those extended stay type places but you can get rooms for just a weekend.  All the rooms have a fullsize fridge, microwave, stove, oven and TV with dvd player.  There is a laundry on the first floor as well as a gym.  They also have a small convience store type room with food and sundries.  It's about five minutes away from Birkdale square which has a pretty good sushi restaurant.  Travel time to the faire is no more than 10 minutes and it's basically a straight shot there.  I want to say that it was about 150 a night last year for a non suite room (no living room).

That sounds lovely, but it's WAY out of my price range...unless I get a few friends to come with me.

Any more suggestions?? I'd LOVE to camp!  ;D

Can't help you camping (my idea of camping is slow room service), but the Quality Inn Huntersville is prolly the close cheap one (around 60 bucks last year, non "group" rate) and also the guy that runs the microtel at exit 28 posted on this board a fantastic $40 or $45 rate it might be worth making those calls to see what they are like this year.

If you love to camp that much there is a KOA in statesville that is a driveable distance, also Lake Norman State Park is near by. I have heard of people staying at Wildlife Woods, and Cross Country camp grounds in Denver NC you can find any of thoes with google.

We would almost always stay at the Red Roof Inn on I-77 exit 23 (I think-its one down from the exit for faire). Note that we always went for either or both of the last two weekends. rates were $45-$55 per night.

Thank you Solaris for the camping info!!! And, thank you Lady Glorianna for the motel info. Both will probably come in handy!!!

I can't wait for October!!!!

For the last 3 years we have stayed at the Quality Inn in Huntersville.  Same exit as the faire and about 6 miles away.  I have paid between $58 and 80 a night depending on which weekend I visited and how early I booked.

No matter where you stay, room or camp site, remember to check for the race weekends and expect prices to go up and availablity to cecrease.
