Okay as a pirate you have been captured and judged then sentenced to death.  The Judge is a former seaman, perhaps someone you did wrong, and he lets you choose your fate.  What shall your demise be?  Hemp jig, walk the plank into shark infested waters, or perhaps a blind folded and a musket shot to the temple?

If I didn't fight to the death to avoid being captured, I'd prefer a quick method, not the hemp jig..
Do it wrong, and it'll take very many long minutes to die . :-X

That's a possibility, I suppose, but I'd probably already be back on deck before they managed to find their way to the gibbet!!!

They do say a man born to hang can die no other way... and I suppose that holds true for a woman, as well... LOL
