It has been almost two year, now... and approaching the third TRF season.  Not bad for a little countdown thread!  ;)

I find myself missing the campground, and all of you, as much as I miss walking through the gate... and when I think of the last few miles of that drive, the feeling I get is of coming home.

Yeah... can't get here soon enough for me!

I always look forward to TRF.

I go to Scarby, but the weather is usually weed puller and I cant camp. Not to say that it isnt a nice faire, with a great cast and good shows, I just like the whole gathering up the fellas, packing the van, setting up, sitting around the fire and relaxing.

Aside from the random underage toolbag that might come through, I've always had a great experience. This year will be year 4 of camping out there. Only met a few folks and dont know if they are board members or not.  I guess folks dont come down to the other side of tracks in the campgrounds often,  :D

Well, you'll just have to wander down our direction this year...  Too bad you can't talk your Lady into celebrating your anniversary with a trip to Faire, because AHE really IS an awesome weekend!

I love AHE weekend... cool nights... the smoke hanging just above the tents... camps all done up spooky... the food... the feeling of Fall in the air...  ;D

Damn it... *faire flashback*

Mmhmm... here, to.  It's rainy and chilly here today (which is odd for this time of year in OK), and it's reminding me of the feel of the air as I stroll between camps, stopping to chat with friends and Fairemily... or making new friends anywhere there is a light and a smiling face.  I'm flashing on huddling around the stove in Z's tent in the morning for coffee and hash, or passing Loki around the fire late at night, when there are only a few of us left awake, and the conversation is about everything... and nothing at all... but it keeps going because no one wants it to end.

Then there's the feeling of huddling under a cloak with someone else, to share warmth, breath and closeness... as much because it's nice to be that close to someone as because it's cold.

Yeah... I'm definitely feeling a bit homesick today...

Our last late night around the fire conversation was odd enough that the people camping near us actually mentioned it the next morning. Not that we were being loud, but what we where talking about made them  ???

Crash, we always have really weird conversations at Faire... in fact, with some of us (I won't say who...) it seems to be a point of pride!  LOL

::)  I'm not sure you'd want to load Z's breakfast hash in your hooka, although it's some pretty tasty stuff!  :D  The eggs might make the water smell a bit... off, though!  Just hafta see if we can't find something else to take it's place, I guess...  ;)

I remember the person next to us coming over and saying "That is the first time I have ever heard a conversation topic about Prince Albert piercings, LED lights, and a miners hat, not individual topics, but all related to a single thought"

Yeah, the rabbit hole took a turn for the odd that night.

Fraser, it's got eggs, potatoes (diced), breakfast sausage, onions and peppers... and it's goooooood!!!  Breakfast hash is the only name I've ever heard it called, but he could have another name for it, I suppose.  You mean you didn't get any of it closing weekend?  Just the smell of it alone has been known to pull people out of tents several campsites away!!!  Sometimes he makes it with smoked sausage, as well... and any leftover steak or pork products from dinner the night before.  Geez...  ::)  If you're gonna camp right next door you've gotta figure out what time you need to be wandering that way!  I mean, even Scally figured out what time in the morning to head across the street to McShug to get someone to make her hot chocolate from the Krups machine, and when the pancakes and bacon were going to be done at Procrastination!!!  Of course, she always spots all the kilts for me, also... so she's definitely paying attention to what's happening around her!  :D

Crash, I can think of at least 3 different topics where all of those would not only fit, but be perfectly logical parts of the conversation... :D  Of course, that might just mean I'm a bit more deviant than some... but probably not by much, when you take into account the other people I hang out with at Faire!  :P  Honestly... I have the feeling your crew wouldn't stand out as much as you might think amongst us, pierced, hawked or gauged as you may be.  We're all rather twisted in our own little ways, whether it shows or not, and we're not too quick to point fingers at others... well, unless they're wearing their kilt backwards, and don't realize it, anyway!  LOL

Rapier Half-Wit

I know i'm hot. Thank ya'll for understanding. I was having a phone conversation here at work yesterday about this subject when the idiot on the phone opened her mouth and it would have to be one of the handful of times in my life when my mouth went running way out in front of my brain when i lept out of my chair and yelled into the phone "I will burn your @#$%ing career to the ground!!" It was amazing timing that for some reason everyone in the room got suddenly quiet all simultaneously and turned and looked at me.

I guess I still have a job, no one has come tapping me on the shoulder yet.
If her eyes aren't sparkling, you didn't do it right...

Rani Zemirah

Yeah, you're really not who I think of when the rash, leaping-before-looking, burn-'em-to-the-ground types come to mind...  :P

And the reason you still have a job is because you show up on time, get your job (and a few others) done, and work until you are ready to drop... and I'd be willing to bet not many others there do the same!  Besides, it's not like you were yelling at a customer, or anything...  ;)  :D

Yeah, it sounds like we would probably fit right in. No subject is really off limits for us, which is nice. No one gets offended.
