Anyone from these forums planning to attend?

If September in Wichita is as cool as August has been in my corner of Kansas, then it should be absolutely delightful weather.

I've got an inquiry off to the organizers asking their policy on patrons in costume and their weapons policy, but if anyone knows the answer already, please feel free to jump in and reply. :D

David and I keep hearing wonderful things about this faire, but the 8 hour drive is a bit much for us 'just' Playtrons.  We are intending to make a vacation out of it one year soon though.  This looks to be just the kind of festival we enjoy, and ee are having awesome weather this year in the midwest!
I am also interested in any stories anyone would like to share of their experiences, good and bad.

Update:

I could not find anything on the Wichita Renfest about their policy toward guests/playtrons in garb, or what their weapons policy was, so I sent them an email.

"Thanks for your interest in the Great Plains Renaissance Festival! Garb is encouraged by all, weapons are okay but must be peace bound. We have a great lineup for our tenth anniversary show, hope to see you there!

I tend to use the Event Record section of the Directorie of Renaissance faires site for no frills, basic info all on one page.

Most promoters keep the entries up to date with the most pertinent details; like weapons policy, pets, faire theme, etc. as well as a link to the main website.
That way you aren't sorting through all the pretties, photo galleries and ads (unless you want to) to find the one thing that you need.

Wichita Faire is this weekend.  Anyone from this forum planning to attend?

Craigmeister

It's nearly time for Wichita's fall Renfest.  It will be held on October 9th & 10th this year.  They have tall trees, jousting, the Saltire Bagpipers, fencing that patrons can participate in & unique surroundings from a large hill right next to the grounds to a large, shaded pond.  I hope to see you there.

I can't make it but I've talked a co-worker into going.  She wants to hear Ian Briggs of the Saltire Pipers talk.  I told her that his brogue makes him sound like Sean Connery.  Maybe I can go next spring.  It's been too long since I've been.
